Hydraulic cylinders
Check the function of the cylinders for smooth, even
and jerk-free running. Check the seals for leaks.
Cracks, grooves and rust formations on the chrome
plating of the piston rods can cause damages to the
seals. Keep the cylinders free of dirt.
If necessary, have the dock leveller inspected by an
expert/ a qualified person.
Replacing an hydraulic cylinder
•
Move the dock leveller to its uppermost position.
•
Switch off the main switch and secure it against
switch-on.
•
Insert the maintenance support first at the top
and then at the bottom into the receptacle on the
dock leveller.
•
Switch on the main switch. Lower the dock
leveller.
•
Do not switch the control unit off, otherwise the
solenoid valve will not work. Make sure that
nobody is able to operate the dock leveller!
•
Provide for sufficient and safe space under the
dock leveller, even if it is not possible to drive
under it.
•
Remove the lifting cylinders from the dock
leveller platform and push the cylinders in by
hand so that the oil can flow back into the tank.
•
Remove the hoses from the cylinders and place
them in a suitable container to avoid oil
contamination.
•
Loosen the fastening screws from the cross rod.
•
Remove the defective lifting cylinder from the
cross rod.
•
Mount the new hydraulic cylinder, hoses and
cross rod.
•
Bleed the system.
•
Check the oil level of the hydraulic unit and the
function of the dock leveller.
Only use original spare parts of the manufacturer.

These assembly, operation and maintenance instructions must be kept for the entire period of use!
8.10 Measures after completed maintenance
work
Put the dock leveller into rest position immediately
after use.
•
Switch on the main switch.
•
Press the "Lift" button.
•
Switch off the main switch once the dock leveller
has reached the uppermost position.
•
Mount the maintenance support back into the
designated receptacle on the crossbar.
•
Switch on the main switch.
•
Press the "Lift" button.
•
Release the button after the dock leveller is lifted.
The dock leveller now moves into the resting
position.
After a successful test run, the dock leveller is ready
for operation.

Disassembly
9.1
Safety instructions for disassembly
Disassembly may only be carried out by specialist
staff, see chapter 2.3 - Personnel qualifications.
Never carry out the disassembly on your own. Some
of the work steps can only be achieved with two
people working.
9.2
Dismounting the dock leveller
•
Only dismount the dock leveller in its resting
position.
•
Disconnect the mains voltage.
•
Completely dismount and remove all parts of the
dock leveller.
If the dock leveller is disassembled into individual
its individual components during this process,
remove the hydraulic oil and all hydraulic
components and dispose of them properly in
accordance with the applicable regulations.
•
The components of the dock leveller can be
recycled by respective companies.
•
If the dock leveller is reassembled in a different
location, the operational safety must be checked
according to the new operating conditions.
•

instructions for the dock leveller and the dock
leveller control.
