Service and maintenance
Remove accumulated dust from the device at regular intervals. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the guides.
Occasional spraying with machine oil maintains the smooth movement of the joints and guiding parts.
The storage location must be dry and frost-free.
If, despite careful manufacturing and testing procedures, the unit should ever fail, have it repaired by an
authorized service center for MAFELL products.
5.1 Replacement of the chip breaker guard - version S
This section applies only to the S version of the guiding device.
Use the following procedure to replace the chip
breaker guard:
1.
Using a Torx 20 screwdriver, unscrew the two
screws 6 CCW.
2.
Remove the plastic guide fence 5.
3.
Pull off the old chip breaker guard.
4.
Clean the adhesive surface, e.g. with white spirit
or isopropanol. The adhesive surface must be
free of adhesive residues, dirt and grease.
5.
Bring the new chip breaker guard in flush
contact with the edge of the adhesive surface
on the left and start the bonding process.
6.
Pull the protective film off the chip breaker
guard. The adhesive is applied underneath.
Perform bonding at a room temperature of

20 - 30°C (68 - 86° F).
7.
Glue in the chip breaker guard to the right.
8.
After you have inserted it, press down firmly on
the chip breaker guard with your fingers.
