It is an employer's responsibility to

tors and by other persons in the immedi-
ate working area.

To prevent dust irritation the wearing of
a face mask is recommended.

While operating the machine, always
wear non-slip and protective footwear.
Non-skid, closed-toed safety boots and
shoes will reduce the risk of injury.

Stay alert, watch what you are doing and
use common sense when operating the
machine. Do not use the machine while
you are tired, ill, or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment
of inattention while operating the machine
may result in serious personal injury.
8.
Start and operate the engine only out-
doors in a well ventilated area. Operation
in a confined or poorly ventilated area can
result in death due to suffocation or carbon
monoxide poisoning.
9.
Wear ear protection, such as ear muffs.
Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.
10. Use of gloves when working with the
blower is recommended. Wear sturdy
shoes with non-slip soles.
Operation

Clear the area of children, bystanders,
and pets. At a minimum, keep all chil-
dren, bystanders, and pets outside a 15
m (50 ft) radius; outside the 15 m (50 ft)
zone, there is still a risk of injury from
thrown objects. Bystanders should be
encouraged to wear eye protection. If
you are approached, stop the engine or
machine.
