• Do not connect the blue (= neutral) or brown (= live) wire
in the cord of the charger to the earth terminal of the plug
Use
• Charging battery #
- battery of new tools is not fully charged
! unplug the charger from the tool after charging
period has ended thereby lengthening the service
life of the battery

IMPORTANT:

- while charging, the charger and the battery may
become warm to touch; this is normal and does not
indicate a problem
! a lithium-ion battery that is new or has not been
used for a longer period does not develop its full
capacity until after approximately 3 charging/
discharging cycles
- connect charger B with both wall socket and contact C
- charging light D turns on indicating that the tool is
being charged
- when the battery is fully charged, charging light D
turns off (after 4-6 hours)
- the lithium-ion battery can be charged at any time
(interrupting the charging procedure does not damage
the battery)
- the lithium-ion battery does not have to be empty
before charging (no "memory-effect" as with
nickel-cadmium batteries)
- if you anticipate long periods of non-use for the tool, it
is best to unplug the charger from its power source
• Battery protection
Switches off the tool automatically when
1) the battery temperature is not within the allowable
operating temperature range of -10 to +60°C

illustrated
- position protective cover H back and slide it towards
the blade until it snaplocks
! while working, always hold the tool at the
grey-coloured grip area(s) ^
- maintain a stable working position
- keep your other hand away from the cutting blades
- trim the sides of the hedge first (from the bottom
upwards), then cut the top
- trim the side of a hedge in such a way that it will be
slightly narrower at the top
- use a hand saw or pruning shears to cut thicker
branches
- shrub shear blade K as well as grass shear blade J
can be used for trimming hedges
- when cutting long grass, work in stages from the top
and take small cuts
- for optimal cutting results, only cut dry grass
- keep the tool away from solid objects in order to
protect the cutting blades against excessive wear
- grass shear blade J can also be used for trimming
shrubs
- fasten a piece of string along the length of the hedge
at the desired height
- trim the hedge just above this string
- trim hedges with deciduous leaves in June and
October
- trim evergreen hedges in April and August
- trim conifers and other fast-growing shrubs every 6
