9.4.- MONITOR (SQUELCH):
Press and hold the [PF1] side key for 2 seconds to open the squelch and monitor the
channel; the status LED indicator will light green. Release the [PF1] key to close the
squelch.
9.5.- CHANNEL SWITCHING:
Turn the channel selector knob to select the desired channel.
9.6.- PROGRAMMABLE SIDE KEYS:
There are 2 programmable side keys. Through the PC programming software, you can
setup the following functions: Open the squelch, VOX function, switching the transmission
power, scanning, transmission tail tone, turn off/on display, battery icon display,
emergency alarm (SOS) function, channel number voice prompt, keypad lock, scrambler,
code setting for private calls, code setting for group calls, code setting for all calls.
9.7.- KEYPAD LOCK:
When the side key is programmed with the keypad lock function, press or press and hold
the key to lock the keypad, the lock icon will appear on the LCD display. Press the key
again to turn off this function.
9.8.- EMERGENCY ALARM (S.O.S.):
When the side key is programmed with the emergency alarm function, press or press and
holds the key to turn on the function. Press the [PTT] to disable the emergency alarm
function.
9.9.- CHANNEL SCAN:
1. When the side key is programmed with the scan function, press or press and hold the
key to turn on this function, you can see the icon on the display and listen "scanning on".
The transceiver will scan each channel and will stop scanning in a busy channel.
2. When a signal is detected, scanning stops on that channel until the signal disappears.
Scanning will resume automatically 5 seconds after the signal disappears.
Note:
- You cannot turn on the scan mode until at least 2 channels have been
programmed.
9.10.- STATUS LED INDICATOR AND LOW BATTERY ALERT:
Make two "clicks" with the [ON / OFF / VOL] knob, then you can check the battery charge
level.
1. When the battery voltage is <10% ± 5, the transceiver will voice prompt "please
charge the battery" every 15 seconds, at the same time the status LED indicator
flashes red. Charge the battery as soon as possible or replace it with a fully charged
one.
2. When the battery voltage is 0V, the transceiver turns off automatically. Charge the
