ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR THE PLANER
1.
If you are not thoroughly familiar with planer operation, obtain advice from your supervisor, instructor,
or other person.
2. Keep the cutting head sharp and free of rust and resins.
3. Check material for loose knots, nails, and other defects.
4. Remove chips only with the tool turned off.
5. Keep your hands away from the top surface of the board when near the feed rollers.
6. Check that the switch is in the off position before plugging in the power cord.
7. Before moving the table up or down, loosen the locking knobs. After selecting the correct position,
tighten the locking knobs. The lock knobs are on the right side of the machine.
8. Make sure that the cutting head blades are correct, and that all hex head screws are tightened securely
before use.
9. Keep hands away from the feed rollers and the cutting head.
10. Do not operate the machine when the gear cover is open.
11. Remove adjustment tools and loose items from the machine before operating the machine.
12. Wear a dust mask to reduce the risk of inhaling hazardous dust.
13. Wear hearing protection.
14. The equipment can throw debris into the eyes during operation; causing permanent
damage. Always wear safety glasses that comply with ANSI Standard Z87.1.
