6. If additional blades are to be fitted, repeat STEP 5.
7. After adjusting the four blades with the screws just tightened,
loosen and tighten the six screws (D) Fig. 22, against the slot,
starting with the end screws first and then the center screws,
until the blade is securely held in the cutting head. Tighten the
remaining three blades in the same way.
NOTE: Recheck that all screws are tightened.

Replacing and readjusting blades

If the blades are removed for sharpening, care must be taken
when reinstalling and adjusting them. Proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the machine from the power supply.
2. Remove the six screws (A) and the top cover (B) as shown in Fig. 20.
3. To remove the blade, loosen the blade locking bar (C) Fig. 22 by turning the six blade locking screws (D)
on the blade locking bar (C) and remove the blade clamping bar (C), the blade (F) and the springs (E)
located below the blades. Please note that the two internal springs will pop out when removing the blade
and the blade clamping bar.
4. Remove the remaining three blades in the same manner.
5. Thoroughly clean the blade slots, blade retaining rods, springs and safety screws. Check the safety
screws; if the threads are worn or loose, replace them, or if the heads are rounding off, replace them.
6. Inspect the cutting edge of the blades for dents or metal flaking. Grind the blades lightly using a stone, or
if it is necessary to sharpen the blades, maintain a 35-degree cutting angle as shown in Fig. 22.
7. Insert the springs (E), blades (F), and blade retaining bar (C) into the slot in the cutterhead, as shown in
Fig. 22. Loosen the locking screws (D) just enough to hold the blade in the cutting head.
8. Install the blade gauge (A) on the blade as shown in Fig. 22.
9. While holding the blade gauge (A) Fig. 22, loosen the six locking screws (D) by turning them on the
clamping bar (C) until the cutting edge of the blade (F) contacts the protrusion (B) of the knife gauge (A).
Now slightly tighten the knife clamping bar (C) against the slot by slightly loosening the six screws (D).
NOTE: AT THIS TIME ONLY TIGHTEN THE BLADE IN THE SLOT TO HOLD THE BLADE IN POSITION.
10. Reinstall and adjust the remaining three blades in the same manner.
11. After adjusting the four blades with the screws only slightly tightened, loosen and tighten the six screws
(D) Fig. 22 against the groove, starting with the end screws first and then with the center screws, until
the blade is securely held in the cutting head. Tighten the remaining three blades in the same manner.

NING After installing and checking, please check once again carefully, make sure that the direction

of the blades is correct and that the 24 locking screws are securely tightened. This is very important.
Parallelism check between work table and cutting head
The worktable is set parallel to the cutterhead at the factory, and no additional adjustments are required. If
you are planing a conical shape with the machine, first check to ensure that the knives are set correctly in
the cutterhead. Then check to ensure that the worktable is set parallel to the cutterhead and proceed as
follows:
1. Disconnect the machine from the power supply.
2. Install the gauge block (A) Fig. 23 on the work table, directly
below the front edge of the head piece (B). Achieve light
contact by gently lifting the table as shown in Fig. 23
