4. Move the gauge (G) under one end of the ejector roller (B)
as shown in Fig. 32. The bottom of the ejector roller should
just touch the top of the gauge block. If it is necessary to
adjust the ejector roller, loosen the lock nut (K) Fig. 32, and
turn the screw (L) Fig. 32 until the ejector roller touches
the gauge block. Now tighten the lock nut (K) as shown in
Fig. 32.
5. Check and adjust the opposite end of the ejector roller in
the same manner.
Feed speed control
Your machine is equipped with a spiral, toothed feed roller and
a solid steel ejection roller.
When the feed rollers engage, they rotate to feed the material.
The feed rollers slow down automatically when the machine is
under heavy load for better planing under all conditions. The
feed rollers are driven by chains (D) Fig. 33 and the gears (E),
which take power directly from the cutting head through the
oil-bath gearbox (F) Fig. 33.
The gearbox has two speeds, which are controlled by a
gearshift (G) Fig. 33 for pulling or pushing, and for the feed
speed range as shown in Fig. 34.
Feed roller speed
The speed of the feed roller is transmitted by the shaft gears in
the gearbox. The speed change handle is shown in Fig. 34.
The gearbox has three kinds of operations, using the shaft
handle to push or pull. In position A, the feed roller operates at
a speed of 6 m/min (20 fpm), as shown in Fig. 34. In position B,
the feed roller operates at a speed of 0.
In position C, the feed roller operates at a speed of
4.8 m/min - 16 fpm.
Return rollers
The two return rollers (A) Fig. 35 at the top of the machine serve
as a resting point for the material. When the planed wood
returns to the feed side, time and motion are saved, as shown in
Fig. 35.

Dust Collector Hood Accessory
B
The dust hood is a standard accessory. Assembled to the back of
the planer using Hex Head Screws and washers, it provides an
efficient means of maintaining a clean and safe work area as
shown in Fig. 35 (B).
