Reset t ing t he unit
Before operating the unit for the first time or
after replacing the car battery, you must reset
the unit.
Remove the front panel and press the RESET
button with a pointed object, such as a ball-
point pen.

Note
Pressing t he RESET but t on w ill erase t he clock
set t ing and some memorised f unct ions.
Det aching t he front panel
You can detach the front panel of this unit to
protect the unit from being stolen.

Press (OFF) .

Press (OPEN) , then slide the front panel
to the right side, and pull out the left
side of the front panel.

Notes
• Do not put anyt hing on t he inner surf ace of t he
f ront panel.
• Be sure not t o drop t he panel w hen det aching it
f rom t he unit .
• If you det ach t he panel w hile t he unit is st ill
t urned on, t he pow er w ill t urn of f aut omat ically
t o prevent t he speakers f rom being damaged.
• When carrying t he f ront panel w it h you, use t he
supplied f ront panel case.

Place the hole A in the front panel onto the
spindle B on the unit as illustrated, then push
the left side in.

Notes
• Be caref ul not t o at t ach t he f ront panel upside

• Do not press t he f ront panel t oo hard against t he
unit w hen at t aching it .
• Do not press t oo hard or put excessive pressure
on t he display w indow of t he f ront panel.
• Do not expose t he f ront panel t o direct sunlight
or heat sources such as hot air duct s, and do not
leave it in a humid place. Never leave it on t he
dashboard of a car parked in direct sunlight or
w here t here may be a considerable rise in
t emperat ure.
Caut ion alarm
If you turn the ignition key switch to the OFF
position without removing the front panel, the
caution alarm will beep for a few seconds.
If you connect an optional power amplifier
and do not use the built-in amplifier, the beep
sound will be deactivated.
