1. Move the air lever (7) upwards.
This avoids the entrance of dirt in the
carburetor when the filter is removed;
2. Untighten the fixing screws and
remove the air filter cover (6);
3. Remove the filter element and
blow it with compressed air until it is
completely clean. If it doesn't allow an
efficient cleaning or if it is damaged,
replace it;
4. Place the filter element and
assemble the remaining components
by the reverse order of disassembly;
Using a dirty filter will limit the
air flow in the carburetor
affecting the pump performance.
5.2 - SPARK PLUG CHECK AND
CHANGE (FIG. J)
To ensure a proper operation, the spark
plug must be clean and with enough
clearance between electrodes.
1. Remove the spark plug cap (9),
unscrew the spark plug (9) with the
supplied wrench and check if it is clean.
If not, remove the soot with a brush.
2. If the spark plug is "soaked" with
excess of fuel, place a clean cloth over
the spark plug opening and pull the
starter grip several times with the spark
plug removed;
3. Measure the distance between the
electrodes with a proper tool. The
distance must be between 0.6-0.7mm.
If necessary, fold the electrode until
reach enough clearance;
4. Insert the spark plug with the hand to
avoid damages in the thread and tighten
it until the washer is compressed, using
the supplied wrench;
5. If the spark plug doesn't spark when
starting the equipment, it shall be
replaced;
34
A loosen spark plug may
overheat
and
damage
engine.
5.3 - STORAGE AND CLEANING
Storage:
Preparing the storage during long
periods is essential to prevent damages
and increase machine's lifespan.
Never store the blower with gasoline
inside de tank. Depending on the
region and storing conditions, gasoline
may deteriorate and oxidize, leading
to damages in the carburetor and in
the fuel system, hard starts and clogs
caused by particles accumulation.
Before
storing,
follow
procedures:
1. Remove the fuel from the tank;
2. Run the engine until it stops due to
lack of fuel;
3. Remove the spark plug and add new
oil for 2-stroke engines (5-10 cl) in the
cylinder, through the spark plug hole;
4. Put a clean cloth over the spark
plug hole and pull the starter grip to
distribute oil through the cylinder;
5. Pull slowly the starter grip while
feeling some resistance. The piston is
rising and the admission valves and the
exhaust are closed. Leaving the engine
on that position will help protecting
from internal corrosion;
6. Reinsert the spark plug;
6. ENVIRONMENT
SAFETY
The packaging is made of
recyclable materials, which
can be disposed on local recycling
points.
Never place power tools in
the
the domestic waste!
Wastes such as used oil, lubricant,
filters
and
worn
dangerous to humans, animals and the
environment. Therefore, they must be
properly eliminated or recycled.
Make sure that this equipment is
directed and eliminated in a way
compatible with the environment and in
a recycling centre.
