INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION –
ROOF RACK BASE SYSTEM
These fitting instructions must be retained and followed each
time the roof rack is assembled.
1.
Important! When mounting the roof strips, take account
of weather conditions.

Remove the right and left-hand roof strips.
3. + Before fitting the roof rack for the first time the sealing

compound in the area of the tapped holes front and rear
at the fastening points on the roof must be removed.
Then unscrew the plastic plugs (cross-head). Remove
remains of sealing compound from the tapped holes.
When fitting, screw in M6 bolts front and rear (part B) to
test seating (do not insert bolts at an angle).
Caution! It must be possible to screw in the bolts easily
6 turns by hand. If it is not, inspect and clean threads.

Clean the roof channel
6. - Place the new roof strips (J, K, L) securely in the roof

Unlock the roof rack and undo the attachment screw (Y)
a little. Take care not to completely undo the
attachment screw (Y).
10. - The feet of the transverse bars are numbered.
Make sure that they are fitted as shown.
01 = front left
03 = rear left
Clean the roof surfaces at the points where the feet of
the roof rack are supported.
11. - Align roof rack and tighten fixing screws. Use only the

fastenings supplied.
For this, screw in the bolts (B) by hand. Do not use tools!
Before screwing in the bolts turn the butterfly nuts in the
direction of the bolt head.
Caution: the bolts must screw in at least 6 turns.
(Figure 12) If this is not possible, the roof rack must not
be used.
Now tighten the butterfly nuts to 2.5 Nm by hand
(Figure 13)
Subsequently, tighten up the attachment screws (Y) with
the socket wrench (I) with 6 Nm (Fig. 14).
Make sure that the roof rack is correctly fitted and fas-
tened firmly to the vehicle!
15. + Insert the rubber strip (E) at the front and back, and cut

it off, so that it lodges between the cover caps without
a gap.
17. + Mount and lock cover caps.

Demounting:
Demount the cross members at the front and back. Fix
the cover cap H with screw G.
SAFETY HINTS:
Note permissible carrier load and permissible total weight of
the vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer's information
(permissible rack load 50 kg, weight of roof rack approx. 4.5
kg). The maximum rack load is made up of the weight of the
roof rack, the accessories and the load.

CAUTION:
After driving a short distance and then at suitable inter-
vals of time, according to the road surface, (after each fit-
ting, after approx. 50 km and then every 1000 km at the
latest) the screw connections must be tightened to the
specified torque and the roof rack seating and
fastenings and the load inspected).
Adapt driving to suit the changed road performance
Distribute load evenly over the loading surface and with
the centre of gravity as low as possible and secure it
against slipping.
For the safety of other road-users and to save energy, the
cross-carrier should be removed when not needed.

EINBAUANLEITUNG –
DACHTRÄGER BASIS SYSTEM
Diese Einbauanleitung ist aufzubewahren und bei jeder
Montage des Dachgepäckträgers zu befolgen.
1.
Achtung! Bei Montage der Dachleisten
Witterungsbedingungen beachten.
2.
Dachleisten links und rechts entfernen.
3. + Vor der Erstmontage des Dachgepäckträgers muss an

den vorgesehenen Befestigungspunkten am Dach die
Dichtmasse im Bereich der Gewindelöcher vorne und
hinten entfernt werden.
Anschließend die Plastikstopfen (kreuzschlitz) heraus-
schrauben. Gewindelöcher von Resten der Dichtmasse
reinigen.
Bei jeder Montage vorne und hinten M6 Bolzen
(Teil B) probeweise einschrauben (Bolzen nicht schief
ansetzen).
Achtung: Die Bolzen müssen sich leicht von Hand 6
Umdrehungen eindrehen lassen. Ansonsten Gewinde
prüfen und reinigen.

Dachkanal säubern
6. - Neue Dachleisten (J, K, L) fest in Dachkanal einsetzen.

Dachträger aufschließen und Befestigungsschraube (Y)
etwas lösen. Achtung, Befestigungsschraube (Y) nicht
ganz herausdrehen.
10. - Die Füße der Querträger sind nummeriert. Stellen Sie
sicher, dass diese wie gezeigt montiert werden.

Das Dach an den Auflageflächen der Dachträgerfüße
reinigen.
11. - Dachträger ausrichten und Befestigungs-schrauben

anziehen. Nur die mitgelieferten Befestigungen
verwenden.
Dazu Bolzen (B) mit der Hand einschrauben. Kein
Werkzeug verwenden! Vor dem Einschrauben der
Bolzen sind die Flügelmuttern in Richtung Bolzenkopf zu
drehen.
Achtung: die Einschraubtiefe der Bolzen muss
mindestens 6 Umdrehungen betragen. (Bild 12) Kann
die Einschraubtiefe nicht erreicht werden, so darf der
Träger nicht verwendet werden.
