Intended use
The device is designed for use in industrial environments for operating and monitoring plant processes.
The product may only be handled by personnel qualified for the respective task and in compliance with the documentation
pertaining to the respective task, in particular its safety information and warning notices. Qualified personnel, based on their
training and experience, are capable of identifying risks and avoiding possible hazards when working with these products.

Proper use
SIMATIC products are intended for the automation of mechanical systems, control technology and process engineering. For
information on the intended area of application of the respective product (e.g. ambient conditions such as indoor/outdoor
use), refer to the associated operating instructions.
If products and components from other manufacturers are used, these must be recommended or approved by Siemens.
Proper transport, storage, setup, assembly/disassembly, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance are
required to ensure that the products operate safely and without any problems.
Failure to do so may result in death or serious physical injury.
Observe the notes in the associated operating instructions.
Observe the ambient conditions for intended operation as described in section "Technical specifications" of the relevant
operating instructions.
WARNING
Power supply connection
The power supply may only be connected by qualified and authorized personnel. Pay particular attention to the information
on the nameplate of the device.
Note
The connection of the power supply must be carried out by the operator/user in accordance with the national installation
regulations.
WARNING
Danger due to voltage/current
Only carry out assembly and disassembly work when the device is disconnected from power supply.
Built-in devices with IP20 degree of protection on the rear must be integrated into an enclosure or cabinet that has a degree
of protection sufficient for the hazards at the place of use.
WARNING
Safe functional extra-low voltage
The product must be operated with safe functional extra-low voltage (SELV, PELV). For more information on safe functional
extra-low voltage, refer to the operating instructions.
Comply with the notes and warnings in the operating instructions.
WARNING
Mechanical danger
Secure the HMI device adequately against falling during assembly or disassembly.
Applies to built-in devices: The enclosure or cabinet in which the device is integrated must provide protection against
electric shock and against the spread of fire. The enclosure or the cabinet must meet the requirements for mechanical
strength and the degree of protection for the relevant application.
Use PRO devices with a support arm or pedestal system suitable for your application that offers at least IP6x degree of
protection of the PRO device. The support arm or pedestal system and the associated fasteners must be dimensioned for the
total weight of the device and for all acting forces.
Observe the notes in the associated operating instructions and the documentation of the control cabinet or support
arm/supporting foot system.
