4.4.1 Gateway Power Supply
The product provides you with only one power supply option: Power over Ethernet (PoE).
4.4.1.1 Power Over Ethernet (PoE)
The PoE power supply allows the ethernet cable to power the gateway, enabling the use of just one cable for
data transmission and power in case of using communication via ethernet. The product comes with a passive
PoE power supply included in the package, which is the option WEG recommends. If the user already has a PoE
system implemented in the product installation environment, it can be used, since the X1000 gateway is compatible
with the IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 820.3at standards.
4.4.2 Gateway Connection to the Internet
For the correct operation of the gateway together with the online platform, the product needs to establish an internet
connection. The image below shows the three internet connection options for the Cassia X1000.
Figure 4.4: Diagram of internet connection options for Cassia X1000 gateway
(a) The Dongle is not included in the product. Only required if the user chooses to connect via 3G/4G.
(b) The Charger is required in cases of powering the gateway via the passive PoE charger included in the product.
If another PoE power supply is used, the Ethernet connection will not include the charger.
NOTE!
Cassia X1000 does not support networks using VPNs (Virtual Private Network) or networks with
proxy. Therefore, select a network with internet access that does not use VPN or proxy.
Otherwise, the application will not work correctly.
