steam outlet hole.
REMOVAL AND ASSEMBLY OF THE
STEAM DUCT UNIT (13 + 14 + 15)
WARNING. Check that the product is discon-
nected from the mains socket and has cooled
down completely.
• Remove the lid (3) and the tank (5).
• Hold the two fins on the lower steam duct
(14) with two hands (Fig. 2) and turn coun-
ter-clockwise.
• Remove the upper steam duct (15).
• Remove the lower steam duct (14).
• Make sure that the two seals (13) are still cor-
rectly assembled.
• To assemble the steam duct unit (13 + 14
+ 15), position the lower part of the steam
duct (14) as shown in Fig. 3, ensuring that
the two seals (13) have been assembled
correctly.
• Position the upper part of the steam duct
(15) over the corresponding lower part (14)
as shown in Fig. 4.
• Press the two side fins on the lower steam
duct (14) with both hands, and turn clock-
wise until it is completely closed, as shown
in Fig. 5.
WARNING! If the steam duct unit (13 + 14 +
15) is not assembled properly, it will not be
possible to position the water tank (5) cor-
rectly.
WARNING!
• Never remove the lid (3) without first switch-
ing off the appliance and removing the
power cable plug from the socket.
• Immediately after switching off the appli-
ance, the water contained in the heating
tank (10) may continue to boil for a few
minutes.
• If, as a result of filling or emptying the water
tank, the outside walls of the product (in-
cluding its base) should become wet, imme-
diately dry them with a clean cloth before
inserting the plug into the mains socket and
switching the appliance on again.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
During normal use of the appliance, encrus-
tations may form due to limescale deposits.
These limescale encrustations may form
slowly or quickly, depending on the hard-
ness of the water and the frequency with
which the appliance is used. The harder the
water and the more often the appliance is
used, the quicker deposits/encrustations will
form, leading to a reduction in performance,
an increase in noise and the appliance being
unable to run normally. It is therefore recom-
mended to clean and descale the appliance
at least once a week, as follows. If the appli-
ance is not going to be used for a long period
after cleaning, dry all parts of the appliance
immediately, then store in a dry, sheltered
place.
WARNING! Before proceeding with any
cleaning or maintenance procedures on the
appliance, make sure that the power cable
(16) is unplugged from the mains socket and
that the appliance and its components have
cooled down completely.
Since the appliance contains water (which
could leak out during the operations de-
scribed below), these operations must always
be performed on suitable surfaces that are
not sensitive to water and dampness.
Cleaning the heating plate:
1. Remove the lid (3) and the water tank (5).
2. Remove the entire steam duct unit (13 +
14 + 15) following the procedure described
in the paragraph entitled REMOVAL AND
ASSEMBLY OF THE STEAM DUCT UNIT
(13 + 14 + 15).
3. Pour around 10 ml of vinegar onto the sur-
face of the heating plate and allow it to have
an effect for 2~5 minutes. The amount of
vinegar necessary may vary depending on
the extent of the limescale encrustation.
4. Use a brush to gently clean the surface of
the heating plate and remove the limescale.
5. Clean the surface of the heating plate with
a damp cloth.
