Chain brake
The chain brake lever is a safety device that stops the
saw chain instantly.
Usually, the chain brake will be engaged by a quick chain
kickback movement. It can also be triggered manually
by pushing the chain brake lever (3) forward in the
direction of the saw chain. To disengage, simply pull
back towards the handle until you hear a click noise.
When the brake is engaged, do not press the throttle
trigger!
In case it does not function, contact technical
assistance.
Saw chain oil
The chain is lubricated automatically while the motor is
running. Check the oil level periodically through the oil
level window (8).
To refill the tank, turn the chainsaw on its side and lift
the lever to remove the oil tank cap. The appropriate
quantity of oil is 160ml. After refilling the tank, make
sure the oil filler cap is tightened securely.
Safety precautions
While operating the appliance you should wear
protective gloves, safety shoes, safety shin guards,
glasses and ear protectors.
If the work involves any risk of head injury, you should
also wear a protective helmet.
Always remove the batteries before checking or
adjusting the saw chain tension, when installing a new
saw chain or correcting any errors, and whenever
moving the machine from one place to another. Never
start the appliance without holding it firmly and making
sure that both the guide bar and the saw chain do not
touch any object.
Always hold the appliance with both hands. Do not
operate above shoulder height.
The appliance must not be borrowed or be used by
individuals unfamiliar with its use. The instructions must
always go along with the electric chainsaw.
Kickbacks
If the guide bar nose accidentally comes into contact a
hard object, such as a tree trunk when cutting branches,
or an adjacent object, or a trunk that is too close to the
one being cut, the machine can be sent back towards
you.
How to operate
Every time you start cutting, check that the appliance is
in perfect condition. It is particularly important to
ensure that the guide bar is properly fitted, that the saw
chain is properly tensioned and that the brake is
functioning correctly.
Before using the machine for the first time you should
practice cutting trunks using a trestle or similar support.
While operating with the appliance you should always
pay attention to what you are working on.
Engage the spike bumper a little lower and start cutting
by holding the electric chainsaw by the handles (4 and
6). After lifting the handle (4), start cutting.
In case you can't cut the wood with one stroke:
▪ Apply light pressure to the rear handle (6) and
continue sawing;
▪ Pull the machine slightly backwards;
▪ Engage a lower spike bumper;
▪ Finish the cut by lifting the rear handle;
Remove the machine from the wood with the saw
chain still running.
Pruning trees
When pruning trees, always cut from the top
allowing the branch to fall. It may, however, be
necessary to make the first cut at the bottom of the
branch. When cutting a branch, the machine should be
pressed against the trunk as far as possible.
Never cut branches using only the guide bar nose.
You should be particularly careful when cutting
branches that are under tension, as they can hit you.
