generally applicable safety instructions
When working with high-pressure hydraulic devices, improper handling and/or
poor maintenance damage the device and cause serious injury. You must therefore pay attention to all of
the following safety information and consult with our service team if you have any questions.
Attention
!
• when handling hydraulic oil. The oil can become very hot during prolonged operation.
There is a risk of injury!
• Long busbars can swivel backwards quickly and unexpectedly when bent. Make sure that
no other people are in the work area. Risk of injury!
• In order to extend the life of the device, the hydraulic cylinder should not
be driven under full pressure to the stop.
• Risk of environmental pollution! Catch hydraulic oil that has escaped and prevent it from
entering the sewage system or surface and ground water.
!
Always...
• Process copper or aluminium busbars.
• Position busbars centrally and right-angles in
the device.
• Remove objects and foreign bodies from the
work area.
• Position the busbars in the centre of the load
piston, so that the bending die not tilted.
• Observe the maximum permissible dimensions
of the workpieces.
• Position or support long busbars appropriately
so that they do not tip over.
• Check electrical and hydraulic connection lines
for damage before using the device.
• Ensure that the device is in a safe position.
• Follow the instructions in the operating manual.
• Instruct new users in the safe use of the device.
• Wear safety glasses while working with
the device.
• Follow the local, country-specific guidelines.
• Store and use the device in dry and
well-ventilated rooms.
personal protective equipment
The operating and maintenance personnel must wear personal protective equipment when
working on the device. Personal protective equipment
must include the following components at the very least:
• Safety work shoes: Every time you work on the device
• Safety goggles: Every time you work on the device
• Gloves: When loading and unloading the device
!
never...
• Use the device if it is damaged or if parts
are missing.
• Make changes to the device or remove signs.
• Reach into the work area of the tools or the
swivel range of the workpieces.
• Look consciously and directly into the
laser light.
• Open pressurised couplings.
• Pressurise unconnected hose couplings.
• Exceed the maximum operating pressure.
• Leave the device in operation unattended.
• Use the device with corrosive substances.
• Use the device if these operating instructions
have not been read and understood in full.
• Store or operate the device at temperatures
above 45 °C (113 °F).
• Use the device in potentially explosive areas.
