distilled water (NOT acid), then reconnect. When handling batteries or in their vicinity, always take
care to observe the SAFETY WARNINGS AND NOTES.
C. LED INDICATIONS: refer to illustration on page 2.
LED #1 (RED) - CHARGE VOLTAGE SELECTION: Charge voltage (6V or 12V) is automatically selected
according to connected battery's voltage. If no battery is connected LED #1 will remain on to confirm
AC power.
LED #1 blinking: Battery voltage lower than 8V; 6V charge mode is selected.
LED #1 on: Battery voltage higher than 8V; 12V charge mode is selected.
DEEP DISCHARGED 12V / 12.8V BATTERY: A battery measuring less than 8V at the battery terminals
will be selected as a 6V battery.
To enable 12V only charge mode :
1. Disconnect OptiMate 1 DUO + from AC power supply. 2. Wait for LED #1 to go out.
3. Connect battery clips together. 4. Reconnect OptiMate 1 DUO + to AC power supply.
5. LED #1 flashes for 3 seconds and then turns on, confirming 12V mode is now active.
6. Disconnect clips from each other. 7. Connect OptiMate 1 DUO + to the battery. Charging will
proceed in 12V mode.

To enable 6V & 12V automatic charge mode :
1. Disconnect OptiMate 1 DUO + from AC power supply. 2. Wait for LED #1 to go out.
3. Connect battery clips together. 4. Reconnect OptiMate 1 DUO + to AC power supply.
5. LED #1 will remain on for 3 seconds and then start flashing, confirming 6V/12V automatic mode is
once again active.
6. Disconnect clips from each other. 7. Connect OptiMate 1 DUO + to the battery. Charging will
proceed in 6V or 12V automatic charge mode.
