GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

NEVER use t his appliance as a
space heater to heat or warm t he room. Doing
so may result in carbon monoxide poisoning and
overheat ing of t he oven.
• Use t his appliance for it s int ended purpose as described
in t his owner's manual.
• Have your range inst alled and properly grounded by
a qualified inst aller in accordance wit h t he provided
inst allat ion inst ruct ions.
• Any adjust ment and service should be performed only
by a qualified gas range inst aller or service t echnician.
Do not at t empt t o repair or replace any part of your
range unless it is specifically recommended in t his
manual.
• Your range is shipped from t he fact ory set for use wit h
nat ural gas. It can be convert ed for use wit h propane
gas. If required, t hese adjust ment s must be made by a
qualified t echnician in accordance wit h t he inst allat ion
inst ruct ions and local codes. The agency performing
t his work assumes responsibilit y for t he conversion.
• Have t he inst aller show you t he locat ion of t he range
gas shut - off valve and how t o t urn it off if necessary.
• Plug your range int o a 120- volt grounded out let only.
Do not remove t he round grounding prong from t he
plug. If in doubt about t he grounding of t he home
elect rical syst em, it is your responsibilit y and obligat ion
t o have an ungrounded out let replaced wit h a properly
grounded, t hree prong out let in accordance wit h t he
Nat ional Elect rical Code. Do not use an ext ension cord
wit h t his appliance.
• Before performing any service, unplug t he range
or disconnect t he power supply at t he household
dist ribut ion panel by removing t he fuse or swit ching off
t he circuit breaker.
• Be sure all packing mat erials are removed from t he
range before operat ing t o prevent ignit ion of t hese
mat erials.
• Avoid scrat ching or impact ing glass doors, cookt ops, or
cont rol panels. Doing so may lead t o glass breakage. Do

not cook on a product wit h broken glass. Shock, fire, or
cut s may occur.
• Do not leave children alone or unat t ended in an
area where an appliance is in use. They should never
be allowed t o climb, sit or st and on any part of t he
appliance.

• Never block t he vent s (air openings) of t he range. They
provide t he air inlet s and out let s t hat are necessary for
t he range t o operat e properly wit h correct combust ion.
Air openings are locat ed at t he rear of t he cookt op, at
t he t op and bot t om of t he oven door, and at t he bot t om
of t he range under t he warming drawer, lower oven
drawer or kick panel.
• Use only dry pot holders—moist or damp pot holders
on hot surfaces may result in burns from st eam. Do not
let pot holders t ouch surface burners, burner grat e, or
oven heat ing element . Do not use a t owel or ot her bulky
clot h in place of pot holders.
• Do not t ouch t he heat ing element s or t he int erior
surface of t he oven. These surfaces may be hot
enough t o burn even t hough t hey are dark in color.
During and aft er use, do not t ouch, or let clot hing or
ot her flammable mat erials cont act any int erior area of
t he oven; allow sufficient t ime for cooling first . Ot her
surfaces of t he appliance may become hot enough
t o cause burns. Pot ent ially hot surfaces include t he
burners, grat es, oven vent opening, surfaces near t he
opening, and crevices around t he oven door.
• Do not heat unopened food cont ainers. Pressure could
build up and t he cont ainer could burst , causing an injury.
• Cook food t horoughly t o help prot ect against
foodborne illness. Minimum safe food t emperat ure
recommendat ions can be found at IsIt DoneYet .gov and
fsis.usda.gov . Use a food t hermomet er t o t ake food
t emperat ures and check several locat ions.
• Do not allow anyone t o climb, st and or hang on t he oven
door, drawer or cookt op. They could damage t he range or
t ip it over causing severe injury or deat h.
