M.blue plus Instruments
The opening pressure for the adjustable
differential pressure unit of proGAV 2.0
can be changed before or after implanta-
tion. The opening pressure of the differ-
ential pressure unit is preset by the man-
ufacturer to 5 cmH 2 O.
The following steps must be performed
to adjust the opening pressures:
1. Localisation
When the M.blue plus Compass is
opened, a circular cut-out becomes visi-
ble with which you can localise the valve
in the patient's head using your index fin-
ger (Fig. 6).
Figure 6: Localising the valve using the
M.blue Compass
The direction markings show the flow
direction.
2. Test procedure
In order to determine the selected pres-
sure level, the compass is then closed
again. The float gauge should now be
centred by moving the instrument in
the designated circular marking (Fig. 6).
Once the float gauge is centred, the cur-
rently set opening pressure of the differ-
ential pressure unit (proGAV 2.0) and/or
of the gravitational unit (M.blue) can be
read off via the line mark on the float
gauge (Fig. 7).

with the M.blue Compass
There are two scales on the scale ring.
The grey adjustment range from 0 to 20
cmH 2 O on the outer scale applies for
the opening pressure of the adjustable
differential pressure unit of proGAV 2.0.
The opening pressure of the gravita-
tional unit of M.blue is set to the blue
marked adjustment range from 0 to 40
cmH 2 O of the inner scale.

pressure unit of proGAV 2.0 from 0 to 20
cmH 2 0
Inner: Scale of the gravitational unit of
M.blue from 0 to 40 cmH 2 0 (opening
pressure of the differential pressure unit
of proGAV 2.0 in the example illustrated
is 17 cmH 2 0, opening pressure of the
gravitational unit of M.blue in the exam-
ple illustrated is 16 cmH 2 0)
