6.4 Spare parts
Use only parts or accessories as described in these User
Instructions or on the NIOSH Approval Label for the SR 500
Powered Air-Purifying Respirator. Do not attempt to repair or
modify any component of the system except as described in
the User Instructions.
6.5 To change the sweatband
Fig 15.
• Remove the head harness from the hood by releasing the
three fixing points. Fig 16.
• Remove the sweatband.
• Push in the head harness tongue into the new sweatband.

• Fit the sweatband into the head harness spikes. Fig. 18.
• Fold the sweatband around the bandeau of the head
harness and fit the spikes in the holes. Fig 19.
• Secure the two loose sockets of the sweatband onto the
head harness. Fig. 20, 21.
6.6 To change the head harness
• Remove the head harness from the hood by releasing the
three fixing points. Fig 16.
• Fit a new sweatband, see 6.5 To change the sweatband.
• Secure the both fixing points of the head harness on the
sides. Fig. 22.
• Secure the fixing point of the head harness in the front. Fig.
23.
• Check that the head harness is locked in the fixing points
of the hood.
• Adjust the head harness according to the instructions in
section 4.3 Donning.
6.7 To change the hood
• Pull up the rear part of the hood at the air-duct. Fig. 24.
• Remove the breathing hose from the air-duct. Fig. 25.
• Remove the hood from the air-duct by releasing the two
fixing grooves. Fig. 26.
• Pull off the hood from the head harness and air-duct. Fig.
27.
• Fit the head harness and air-duct into the new hood. Fig. 1.
• Pull down the rear part of the hood over the air-duct. Fig. 2.
• Fit the hood into the two fixing grooves on the air-duct. Fig.
3.
• Check that the air-duct´s front locking pin is in the correct
position. Fig 4.
• Fit the breathing hose into the air-duct. Fig. 5.
• Pull down the rear part of the hood to the correct position
over the air-duct/breathing hose. Fig. 6.
6.8 To change the air-duct
• Remove the hood, see 6.7 To change the hood.
• Remove the air-duct from the head harness, see 6.6 To
change the head harness.
• Assemble the new air-duct in reverse order.
6.9 To change the breathing hose
• Pull up the rear part of the hood at the air-duct. Fig. 24.
• Remove the breathing hose from the air-duct. Fig. 25.
• Assemble the new breathing hose in the reverse order.

NIOSH 42CFR84 Approval
The SR 500 in combination with hood SR 601/SR 602 is
NIOSH approved as a loose fitting respirator with an Assigned
Protection Factor (APF) of 1000. See NIOSH Approval Label for
approved component configurations, cautions and limitation
statements.
9. Warranty and Contact Information
IMPORTANT NOTICE
WARRANTY: In the event any Sundstrom product is found to
be defective in material, workmanship, or not in conformation
with any express warranty for a specific purpose, Sundstrom's
only obligation and your exclusive remedy shall be, at Sund-
strom's option, to repair, replace or refund the purchase price
of such parts or products upon timely notification thereof and
substantiation that the product has been stored, maintained
and used in accordance with Sundstrom's written instructions.
EXCLUSIONS TO WARRANTY: THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLU-
SIVE AND IS IN LIEU OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MER-
CHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR
OTHER WARRANTY OF QUALITY, EXCEPT OF TITLE AND
AGAINST PATENT INFRINGEMENT.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Except as provided above, Sund-
strom shall not be liable or responsible for any loss or damage,
whether direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential,
arising out of sale, use or misuse of Sundstrom products, or
the user's inability to use such products. THE REMEDIES SET
FORTH HEREIN ARE EXCLUSIVE.
