• Press the primer (5) slowly and completely 6 times to inject fuel in the combustion chamber. The fuel needs to be
visible in the primer (5). If it does not show up, press the primer (5) until the fuel becomes visible [Fig. 09, page 10].
• Switch the choke (6) to position (1),
• Firmly hold the equipment supported on the ground.
• Pull the activating cord slowly until it locks. Then pull it fast and strongly until the engine starts.
• When it does, slowly conduct the activating cord to its initial position.
• Let the engine run for 1 to 2 minutes.
• After that, switch the choke (6) to position 2
the local temperature.
• Now switch the choke (6) to position 3.
• Press the throttle (3), [Fig. 08, page 10] to unlock the throttle latch (2). The ignition switch will automatically pop
to the "I Start" position. The engine will run at a slow rotation.
• The equipment will be completely ready for use when you accelerate and it increases speed with no difficulty
and without faltering.
Hot engine start
• Turn the ignition switch (1) to position "l Start" [Fig. 08, page 10].
• Switch the choke lever (6) to position (3)
• Firmly hold the equipment supported on the ground.
• Pull the activating cord slowly until it locks. Then pull it fast and strongly until the engine starts.
• When it does, slowly conduct the activating cord to its initial position.
• If the engine does not start, switch the choke lever (6) to position (2),
starts, switch the choke lever (6) back to position (3),
To switch off the engine
• Release the throttle (3), [Fig. 08, page 10]. Let the engine slow down on idle.
• Turn the ignition switch (1), [Fig. 08, page 10] to the "Stop 0" position.
• If the engine does not stop when the switch in the "Stop 0" position, turn off and turn the choke to position (1),
[Fig. 09, page 10].
How to hold the grass trimmer
• Before using the equipment, assume a work position [Fig. 10, page 11]. Run the following tests:
• Check whether you are wearing protective goggles, ear protectors, gloves, boots, and adequate clothing, as
recommended by this manual.
• Check whether the support belt is properly worn and adjusted.
• Check whether the grass trimmer arm is correctly adjusted for its use so you can use it without stretching your
arms out completely.
• Keep the cutting assembly parallel to the ground so it is not necessary to bend over to cut.
Adjusting the nylon string length
The nylon string reel's automatic system releases the cutting string without the need to stop the engine. To release
more string, lightly press the reel against the ground [Fig. 11, page 11] while the grass trimmer is running.
The cutting string must always be at its maximum length. Releasing the string will become harder the shorter the
string is. Whenever the reel hits the ground, around 25 mm cutting string is released. A blade located in the cut
guard cover cuts the string at the right length. The best way to release the string is to hit the reel directly against
the ground or hard soil. If you try to release the cutting string directly over tall grass, the engine might die.
Suggestions for better results when trimming the grass
• Keep the cutting assembly parallel to the ground.
• Cut only with the tip of the string, mainly along walls. Using more than the tip to cut can reduce the cutting
capacity and may overload the engine.
