• Grass taller than 20 cm should be cut in small stages, from top to bottom, to avoid wearing the string down and
decreasing the engine resistance faster.
• If possible, cut from left to right. Cutting in this direction improves the equipment's cutting capacity. Grass
residues will be projected out by the reel or cutting knife.
• Slowly move the grass trimmer to the desired height within the cutting area and out of it. Move back and forth
or side to side.
• Only use on dry grass or weeds. Never use in the rain or in wet areas.
• The duration of the cutting string depends on the use and whether this manual's recommendations have been
followed or not.
Operation with the cutting knife
Before using the equipment, assume a work position [Fig. 10, page 11].
• Maintain a constant rhythm while cutting.
• Make sure your position is stable and comfortable.
• Accelerate to maximum speed before reaching the spot where you wish to cut.
• The cutting knife, when accelerated to its maximum, has maximum cutting power, which is why it will not get
easily stuck or blocked, or jolt, causing grave injuries to the operator and others.
• When cutting, swing your upper body from right to left.
• Always release the throttle lever, letting the engine slow down to a low rotation or low gear when not in use.
• Turn the equipment in the same direction that the knife cuts (this helps with the trimming), from left to right.
• To service, clean, transport, store, and adjust the grass trimmer, switch it off and wait until the cutting assembly
has come to a complete halt.
• Do not let inexperienced people handle the grass trimmer without reading the instructions first.
• Turn the equipment on only when your hands and feet are away from the cutting system.
• Avoid dangerous places. Do not use the grass trimmer in damp or wet places.
• Never fill the fuel tank while the engine is running.
• Switch the engine off and allow it to cool for at least 2 minutes before removing the cap from the fuel tank.
• Gasoline and its fumes are extremely flammable and explosive. Fire or an explosion can cause grave burns or death.
• Start the engine and run it when outdoors. Do not start or run the engine indoors, even with open doors and
windows. Engines release carbon monoxide, a toxic, odorless, and colorless gas. Inhaling carbon monoxide may
cause nausea, fainting, or death.
• Do not use the grass trimmer in the rain. Always use it in daylight or with good lighting.
• Keep children and animals away from the grass trimmer when it is in operation. All people, especially children,
must be at a safe distance from the working area. Do not let children use the grass trimmer.
• Do not force the grass trimmer. The equipment will work in the best possible way and with safety if used in the
designated conditions.
• When not in use, the grass trimmer must be stored out of the reach of children.
• Do not be over-confident. Keep your feet on the ground to maintain your balance.
• Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as these may get caught in the moving parts of the equipment.
• Use safety goggles, protection for the ears, gloves, and closed footwear.
• Use the equipment correctly. Do not use the grass trimmer for any purpose other than its intended one.
Before servicing the equipment
• Turn the engine off.
