Clean the spark plug once a season and check the gap between the electrodes. Spark plug replacement is
recommended at the start of each mowing season.
Clean the engine regularly with a rag or brush. Keep the top of the engine clean to allow proper air circulation.
Remove all grass, dirt, and combustible waste from the muffler area.
Engines stored for 30 to 90 days should be treated with a gasoline stabilizer to prevent damage to vital
carburetor parts.
3.4.2. Replacing the line
When the cutting line wears out to half of its original length, replace it.
Stop the engine. Wait for all moving parts to stop. Disconnect the wire from the spark plug.
Use the built-in length gauge on the guard to make sure the trimmer line is trimmed to the correct length.
Use the length gauge as follows:
• From the front of the trimmer, place one end of the line in the position marked on the side of the trimmer
as shown.
• Wrap the cutting line around the front of the chassis guard to the other side and cut it at the marked point.
Note that the length of the line should vary by more than 2.5 cm. This is important to make sure the trimmer
head is balanced and not vibrating.
Line replacement:
• First, pass the new line through the line holder.
• Then check that the ends of the line are even.
• Finally, cross both sides of the line.
• Repeat the same procedure to change the other side. Keep both lines the same length.
When replacing the lines, it is better to do it one at a time and use the old line to mark the position of the
new line that is being replaced.
