Instructions and guarantee
- The flow of water at a temperature higher
than 35°C through the filter may cause
permanent damage to its functionality.
- To guarantee the best performance, the
working pressure should be between 0.20
and 0.35 MPa.
• Filter only cold running water from the domestic water
supply, with the filter properly assembled
• This device is NOT intended for professional use but
for domestic use only.
IMPORTANT NOTES FOR PRODUCT USE
• The HYDROSMART™ filter filters water, which IN
ANY CASE MUST BE DRINKABLE. Before use, verify
the water quality with the competent authority in the
area for informed use of the product.
• The GENOVA filtration system maintains the pH value
within the range indicated by European Directive
98/83/EC concerting the quality of water meant for
human consumption.
• Silver is used in the HYDROSMART™ filter system
plant as a manufacturing aid in order to achieve
internal bacteriostaticity. Any release of silver ions
falls under the guidelines from the World Health
Organization (WHO).
The filter for GENOVA HYDROSMART™ taps is
designed to treat drinking water. The filter treats
drinking water by reducing the amounts of any
undesirable substances that may be present. The
HYDROSMART™ filter can treat 900 litres (for a
maximum of 10 litres filtered each day for 90 days).
PREPARING THE TAP FILTER
1) Before performing the following steps, wash your hands and thoroughly rinse all the components required to install
the filtering system under running water.
Clean the outer part of the connector and the adapters with a damp sponge and delicate detergent, then rinse
thoroughly with cold drinking water.
Do not use aggressive detergents, solvents, chemical or abrasive products.
2) Remove the aerator from the tap (fig. 1, 2) and choose the best adapter from the ones provided: I, L or M.

3) To install the connector using the type I or L adapters, remove the fastening ring from the connector and insert
it on the tap (fig. 3).
4) Screw the adapter onto the tap using the fastening key (H) (fig. 4) to help you, taking extra care when inserting
the seal (N) in the relevant seat (fig. 4).
5) Lower the fastening ring until the adapter is covered (fig. 5) and screw on the connector.

After 90 days (maximum 900 litres filtered during
such period) the filter must be replaced.
DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY:
Filtration systems produced by LAICA are compliant with
the following standards:
- Ministerial Decree no. 174 dated 6/04/2004
regarding materials and objects that may be used in
collection, treatment, supply and distribution systems
for water intended for human consumption.
- Legislative Decree no. 31, 2nd February 2001,
implementation of Directive 98/83/EC regarding the
quality of water intended for human consumption.
- Regulation 1935/2004/EC regarding materials in
contact with food.
- Regulation (EU) 10/2011 regarding plastic materials
and objects intended to come into contact with food.
- Ministerial Decree no. 25 dated 07/02/2012 (ITALY),
technical provisions concerning equipment designed
for the treatment of water intended for human
consumption.
- Ministerial Decree dated 21st March 1973 and
subsequent amendments concerning packaging,
recipients, tools, intended to come into contact with
food substances or substances for personal use.
Attention: this equipment requires regular
periodic maintenance in order to
guarantee the potability requirements of
the treated drinkable water and
maintenance of the improvements as
declared by the manufacturer.
