The respective national guidelines and laws must
be observed when carrying out welding work. This
28
relates, in particular, to the respective accident pre
vention provisions.
The ux cored electrode welding device may only be
positioned on an even and at base.
Ensure that the ux cored electrode welding device
cannot all over in the event you place it on a tilted
surace.
In order to prevent damage to the device, it must only
be transported in an upright position.
Potential hazards
Only have work relating to the power supply, e.g.
cables, plugs, sockets etc., carried out by an expert.
This applies, in particular, to the creation o intermedi
ate cables.
In the event o an accident, disconnect the welding
power source rom the mains immediately.
In the event o electrical contact voltage, turn the
device o immediately and have it inspected by an
expert.
Always ensure the electrical contacts are good with
regard to the welding power.
When welding, always wear insulating gloves on both
hands. These protect against electric shock (noload
voltage o the welding circuit), against harmul
radiation (heat and UV radiation) and against burning
metal and slag spray.
Wear sturdy, insulated ootwear; the shoes should
also perorm their insulation unction when wet.
Lowrise shoes are not suitable since burning metal
droplets which all downwards cause burns.
Wear suitable clothing and do not wear any synthetic
clothing.
Do not look into the arc without eye protection;
only use welding protective shield with the proper
protective glass pursuant to DIN. The arc also emits
UV radiation, in addition to light and heat radiation,
which may cause glare and/or burns. The invisible
ultraviolet radiation causes very painul conjunctivitis,
which is only noticeable a ew hours later, i sufcient
protection is not worn. In addition, the UV radiation
causes damaging sunburn to areas o the body which
are not protected.
Persons or assistants near to the arc must also be
made aware o the risks and provided with the neces
sary protective equipment. I necessary, protective
walls are to be constructed.
No welding work may be carried out on containers in
which gases, uels, mineral oils or similar have been
stored, even i they have been empty or a long time
already, as residues lead to an explosion hazard.
In spaces at risk o re and explosion, special regula
tions apply.
Welded joints which are subject to great strain and
must always meet the saety requirements and may
only be welded by welders who have received special
training and obtained the relevant qualications.
Examples include: Pressure vessels, sliding rails,
hitches etc.
Small and hot rooms
Caution! Danger of poisoning / Danger of
asphyxiation
• Signicant quantities o smoke and gases are
created during welding work. Ensure that the
smoke and gases can always be removed via a sui
table opening. However, an oxygen supply must
never be added. This increases the re hazard.
When working in small or hot rooms, insulating bases
and interim layers, as well as gauntlets made rom
leather or other nonconductive materials, are to be
used to insulate the body against the oor, walls,
conductive parts o the device and similar.
When using welding transormers or welding work
in situations with an increased electrical risk, e.g.
in small rooms with electrically conductive walls
(boilers, pipes etc.), in hot rooms (sweatsoaked work
clothes), the output voltage o the ux cored elec
trode welding device may not exceed 48 V~ in idling
conditions (eective value). The device may thus
be operated in this case on the basis o its output
voltage in idling conditions.
Protective clothing
Caution! Risk of accident due to spraying
sparks
The spraying welding sparks may lead to painul
burn injuries.
Thereore, always observe the ollowing instruc
tions:
• Always wear a leather apron.
• Use leather gloves.
• Wear suitable head protection when welding
overhead.
• Ensure that your trouser legs cover the tops o
your shoes.
• Wear sturdy, insulating ootwear.
Whilst working, the welder's entire body must be
protected against radiation and burns by means o
the clothing and ace protection.
