European Directive 2012/19 / EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE) requires that used household appliances not be thrown into the normal
stream of municipal waste. Used devices must be collected separately in order
to optimize the recovery rate and recycling of the materials they are made of,
and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed-out
wheeled bin symbol is affixed to all products to remind you of the separate
collection obligations.
