4. DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE
• The label with serial number and technical data is located inside the appliance. The
first six digits of the serial number identify the year and week of manufacture.
The STRATOS air conditioner to which this manual refers has been designed, satisfying
the high requirements imposed, for the purpose of air conditioning of the cab of heavy
transport vehicles (trucks), during rest breaks, therefore with the vehicle stopped and off.
The air in the passenger compartment is suctioned in through the grilletreated by the
evaporating coil and returned to the passenger compartment by the vents cooled and
dehumidified.
The air conditioner has 3 different modes to meet a variety of needs.
AUTO mode
The system works autonomously, adjusting the operation in order to ensure maximum
performance.
ECO mode
The system works autonomously, regulating operation in order to guarantee the maximum
duration of operation.
The electronic board regulates fan and compressor speeds to minimise consumption
and to increase operating autonomy.
NIGHT mode
The system works autonomously, adjusting operation to guarantee excellent performance.
The electronic board regulates the speed of the fans and the compressor to minimise
noise inside the cab.
The Stratos air conditioner is able to lower the cab temperature until the determined
setpoint is reached. The temperature reached depends on the vehicle model and
the type of cab, the external ambient temperature and on other environmental
factors.
The system is equipped with a vehicle battery check appliance. If the battery voltage
drops below a certain limit, the air conditioner switches off automatically to protect the
battery.
The air conditioner will return to operation when the battery voltage has risen above the
default level.
