and recycling and to prevent negative im-
pacts on your health and the environment,
e.g. from potentially hazardous substances
contained in these products. Recycle electri-
cal and electronic equipment and batteries
at the end of their life to make use of the
recyclable materials they contain and to
avoid littering the environment.
If batteries can be removed without destroy-
ing them, you are obliged to dispose of them
separately (for the safe removal of batteries,
see the operating instructions for the prod-
uct). Be particularly careful with batteries
containing lithium, as these pose special
risks such as fire and/or the risk of button
cells being swallowed. Reduce battery waste
as much as possible by using longer-life
batteries or rechargeable batteries.
You can obtain further information about
recycling these products from your local
authority, municipal collection points or
your Petromax partner. You can also return
electrical or electronic appliances to dis-
tributors who are obliged to take them back.
By doing so, you are making an important
contribution to protecting the environment
and public health.
The packaging is made of environmentally
friendly materials that you can dispose of at
your local recycling centre and, if necessary,
also in your household waste.
Observe the currently applicable disposal
regulations if you
wish to dispose of your product.
Observe the currently applicable disposal
regulations for the return of old appliances
in your country. If in doubt, contact your
local disposal facility.
OPTIONS FOR RETURNING OLD APPLIANCES IN
GERMANY
Owners of waste equipment can hand it in
to distributors due to the obligation to take
it back free of charge. These are in detail:
• Larger electrical stores (i.e. specialist
electrical shops with a sales area for
electrical and electronic equipment of
at least 400 m²).
• Grocery shops with a total sales area of at
least 800 m² that offer and make available
on the market electrical and electronic
equipment several times a year or on a
permanent basis.
• These dealers must take back an old ap-
pliance of the same type free of charge
when selling a new electrical appliance
(1:1 take-back); this also applies to home
deliveries.
• These traders must take back up to three
small old appliances (no external dimen-
sion larger than 25 cm) free of charge
in the sales outlet or in the immediate
vicinity, without this being linked to a new
purchase (0:1 take-back).
• Take-back obligations also apply to the
mail order business, whereby the obliga-
tion to take back 1:1 in private households
only applies to large appliances (an edge
length >50 cm); for the 1:1 take-back of
lamps, small appliances and small ITC
appliances as well as the 0:1 take-back,
mail order businesses must provide re-
turn facilities at a reasonable distance
from the end consumer.
Owners of old appliances can also hand
them in within the framework of the pos-
sibilities for the return or collection of old
appliances set up and available by public
