Notes
In a circuit, a good diode should produce a forward bias reading of
voltage, however, the reverse-bias reading can be variable based on
resistance of other pathways between the probe tips.
To avoid electric shock, never measure continuity on circuits of wires
that with voltage.
10.5 INDUCTANCE MEASUREMENT
1.
Set the rotary switch to desired inductance (L) range. Start with H
setting. If the value is less than 1 H, change to the mH setting.
2.
Insert the black test lead banana plug into the negative COM jack and
the red test lead banana plug into the positive L µA/mA jack
3.
Touch the black test lead tip to negative part of and red test lead tip to
the positive part of inductance being measured.
4.
Read the inductance value in the LCD display.
Notes
The test may take more time for large capacitors to charge, wait until
the readings settle before ending the test.
10.6 CAPACITANCE MEASUREMENT
Do not conduct capacitance measurements on live circuits. Make
sure all capacitors in the circuit are depleted.
1.
Set the rotary switch to desired capacitance (C) range.
2.
Insert the black test lead banana plug into the negative COM jack,
insert the red test lead banana plug into the positive "°C/°F V
Hz % mF" jack.
3.
Touch the test leads to the capacitor to be tested and read the
capacitance value in the display.
