5. Before starting the equipment
Before you connect the equipment to the mains
supply make sure that the data on the rating plate
are identical to the mains data.
Always pull the power plug before making
adjustments to the equipment.
5.1 Fitting the additional handle (Fig. 2)
•
The angle grinder must not be used without
the additional handle (3).
•
The additional handle can be secured in any
of 2 positions (A, B).

The additional handle on this model is fastened
to the machine housing by means of vibration-
absorbing elements which protect the user and
reduce fatigue during operation.
5.2 Fitting the guard (Fig. 3)
•
Remove the two flanges.
•
With the clamping lever (a) pressed as shown
in Fig. 3, push the guard (4) onto the equip-
ment.
•
Re-fit the two flanges to the spindle.
5.3 Adjusting the guard (Fig. 4)
•
Switch off the equipment. Pull out the power
plug.
•
Adjust the guard (4) to protect your hands
so that the material being ground is directed
away from your body.
•
The position of the guard (4) can be adjusted
to any specific working conditions. Press the
clamping lever (a), turn the guard (4) into the
required position and let go of the clamping
lever again.
•
Ensure that the guard (4) correctly covers the
gear wheel casing.
•
Ensure that the guard (4) is secure.
Take care that the safety device is secure.
Never use the angle grinder without the
guard.
