INSTALLING SAFETY CABLE
1.
Replace vice on safety cable and adjust length of
safety cable by pulling on the safety cable. Adjust
slack in safety cable to a hand's length and then
tighten screw and nut on vice securely. The loop
at the end of the safety cable should just fit over
the threads on the wood screw (not included)
used to secure it.
2.
Find a secure attachment point (wood ceiling joist
recommended) and secure preassembled safety
cable. Use a heavy-duty wood screw, washer and
lock washer (none included) to secure safety cable
loop.
Test safety cable by pulling on loose end of cable
with pliers. If the safety cable slips, then screw and
nut on vice must be set tighter.
NOTE: Extra cable slack can be left in ceiling area.
WIRING
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or personal injury, wire connectors provided with this
fan are designed to accept only one 12-gauge house wire and two lead wires from the fan. If your house wire
is larger than 12-gauge or there is more than one house wire to connect to the corresponding fan lead wires,
consult an electrician for the proper size wire connectors to use.
CAUTION: Be sure outlet box is properly grounded and that a ground (green or bare) wire is present.
WARNING: If house wires are different colors than referred to in the following steps, stop immediately. A
professional electrician is recommended to determine wiring.
WARNING: Using a full range dimmer switch (not included) to control fan speed will cause a loud humming
noise from fan. To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, do NOT use a full range dimmer switch to control
fan speed.
DANGER: If using this fan in a WET location, this fan
must be connected to a supply circuit that is protected by a
Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) to reduce the risk of
personal injury, electrical shock or death.
IMPORTANT: Make the necessary wiring connections for
remote control operation as detailed in Step 1 on the
following page. For each wire connection, use one of the
wire connectors from the remote pack (P), making sure to
screw wire connector on in a clockwise direction.
