12.2 The pump does not aspire

Check that the water depth does not exceed the capacity of the pump aspiration (5m).
Check that the pump body has been completely filled with water, see chapter 6.
Depending on the depth the aspiration time can be high, more than 2 or 3 minutes for
4 meters. Keep the engine accelerated for aspiration and check if enough time has
been given.
If you are using a foot valve check if the aspiration hose is filled, see chapter 4.5.
Practical checking to see if the pump is aspiring.
 1 Disconnect suction hose.
 2 Check that the pump body is filled with water and the engine starts up.
 3 Place a sheet of plastic or rubber to the suction mouth and wait 20 or 30
seconds, if you notice any suction, the pump is aspiring well. In this case hose
and connections must be checked because some air intake is breaking the
vacuum and prevents water suction.
Checking hoses and connections:
 Check the type of hose is appropriate and it is in perfect condition.
