OVEN
Stand away from the range when opening the oven door. Hot air or steam which escapes can cause
bums to hands, face and/or eyes.
: Do not heat unopened
food containers.
Pressure could build up and the container
could burst, causing an injury.
Keep the oven vent unobstructed.
Keep the oven fiee fiom grease buildup.
: Place the oven rack in the desired position
while the oven is cool. If rocks must be handled
when hot, do not let pot holder contact the
heating elements.
: When using cooking or roasting bags in the
oven, follow the manufacturer's
directions.
: Pulling out the rack to the stop-lock is a
convenience in lifting hea_.? fbods. It is also a
precaution against burns fiom touching hot
surfaces of the door or oven walls.
: Do not use the oven to dry newspapers.
If ovefl_eated, they can catch on fire.
: Do not use the oven for a storage area. Items
stored in an oven can ignite.
: Do not leave paper products, cooking utensils
or food in the oven when not in use.

any dots, holes or passages in the oven bottom
or cover an entire rack with materials such as
aluminum foil. Doing so blocks air flow
through the oven and may cause carbon
monoxide poisoning. Aluminum foil linings
may also trap heat, causing a fire hazard.
: Do not use aluminum frill to line oven bottoms.
Improper
installation of ahmdnum foil may
result in a risk of electric shock or fire.
: Make sure a broiler pan is in place correctly to
reduce the possibility of grease fires.
: If you should have a grease fire in a broiler pan,
press the CIEAR/OKpad and keep the oven
door dosed to contain fire until it burns out.
SELF-CLEANING OVEN
Donot use oven cleaners.No commercial ovencleaner or ovenliner protective coating of any kindshould be
usedin or aroundany part of the oven. Residuefrom oven cleaners will damagethe inside of the ovenwhen the
self-clean cycle is used.
: Do not clean the door gasket. The door gasket
is essential for a good seal. Care should be
taken not to rob, damage or move the gasket.
: Before self:cleaning the oven, remove shiny,
silver-colored oven racks (on some models)
and all other cookware.
: Gray porcelain-coated
oven rocks (on some
models) may be deaned in the oven during the
self:clean cycle.
: Be sure to wipe up excess spillage before
starting the self:cleaning operation.
: If the self:cleaning mode malfhnctions,
turn the
oven off and disconnect the power supply. Have
it serx4ced by a qualified technician.
