MAINTENANCE
Topreventaccidentalstart-up,shut off the engineand removethe
spark plugbeforeperforminganytype of engine maintenance.
Periodicinspection a nd adjustment o f theengine isessentialifhigh
levelperformanceis to be maintained.Regularmaintenance will
alsoensurea long servicelife.The requiredserviceintervals and
the type of maintenance to be performedare describedin the table
above.Followthe hourlyor calendarintervals,whicheveroccur
first. Morefrequentserviceis requiredwhenoperatinginadverse
conditions.
Changing
Engine Oil
Theengineoil shouldbe changedafter the firstfive hoursof useand
thenonce a seasonor after every50 hoursof use.
NOTE:Checkthe oil level beforeeachuse and afterevery five hours
of operationto be surethe correctoil levelismaintained.Referto
CheckingOil Levelinthe OperationSection.

Drainfuelfrom the tank by runningtheengine untilthe fueltank
isempty.Be surethe fuel fill cap is secure.
2.
Placea suitableoil collectioncontainerunderthe oil drain plug.

Removetheoil drain plug.See Figure11.

Tip the engineto drainoil intothe container.Usedoil mustbe
disposedof at a propercollectioncenter.
5.
Reinstallthe drain plugand tighten it securely.
6.
Refillwith the recommended oil and checkthe oil level; referto
AddingOil in the AssemblySectionfor instructions..

Reinstallthe oil filler cap/dipsticksecurely.
