DRILLING IN METAL
To prevent the drill bit from slipping when starting to drill a hole, make an indentation with a
point in the centre at the place where the hole is to be drilled.
Place the tip of the drill bit in the recess and start drilling. Use a cutting lubricant when drilling
into metal. Exceptions are steel and brass, which must be dry drilled.
PRECAUTION:
Too much pressure on the tool will not speed up the drilling process. In fact, this excessive
pressure will only damage the tip of the drill bit and decrease both the quality of the work
and the performance of the tool. In addition, the service life of the tool will be affected.
A great deal of force is exerted on the tool and bit as the hole is drilled — hold the tool firmly
and be careful as the bit makes its way through the workpiece.
A jammed drill bit can be removed by simply turning the rotation change knob in the oppo-
site direction to perform a reverse movement. However, the tool may recoil abruptly if it is
not held firmly. Always secure small workpieces by means of clamping screws or any other
means of clamping the workpiece.
If the tool is used constantly until the battery runs out, allow the tool to rest for at least 15
minutes before inserting a charged battery.
RECHARGE THE BATTERY
Important notes on battery charging
The battery comes completely DISCHARGED from the factory.
You will need to charge it for approximately 4 hours before you can use it.
Do not charge the battery when the ambient temperature is less than 4 °C
Let the charger rest for at least 15 minutes before using it again. In a hot environment or under
constant use, the battery may become too hot to recharge. Allow sufficient time for cooling.
When the battery is charged for the first time and when it has not been used for a long time,
it can only be charged to 60% of its capacity. However, after several charges and discharg-
es, it can be charged up to 100%.
