Notes for Use
CAUTION: Avoid Damaging the Anti-Stick Coated
Grilling Surfaces!
• Only use spatulas or turners made of wood or Teflon.
• Do not work with sharp objects (e. g. knife, fork) on the
grill surface.
• Do not use any utensils made of plastic. They can
melt.
• The upper grill plate is equipped with a compensating
joint. This enables optimum contact between the upper
grill plate and the food to be grilled.
• The upper grill plate can also be opened by 180 °. This
gives you double the grilling surface and you can use the
appliance as a table grill.
• The non-stick coated grill surfaces allow grease-free
preparation of the food.
• If you want to use oil, a highly heatable oil such as
sunflower oil is suitable. Do not use olive oil or butter,
as these types of fat produce smoke even at low tem-
peratures.
Switching On / Off
• Always set the temperature control knob to the MIN
position before switching the appliance on or off.
• Switch the appliance on and off with the ON / OFF switch.
The power indicator light POWER indicates that the
appliance is in operation.

Electrical Connection
Connected Load
The appliance has a total power rating of 2000 W. With this
connected load, we recommend a separate supply line with
a 16 A household circuit breaker.
CAUTION: Overload!
Do not use extension cords or multiple sockets as this
appliance is too high-powered.
Connection
• Before inserting the mains plug into the socket, check
that the mains voltage you intend to use matches that of
the appliance. You will find the information on the type
plate.
• Only connect the appliance to a properly installed protec-
tive contact socket.
Before Using the Appliance
for the First Time
1. Clean the grill plates as described under "Cleaning".
Reinsert the grill plates.
2. Close the contact grill. Insert the grease drip tray at the
back of the grill.
3. Operate the appliance with the grill plates closed for ap-
prox. 10 minutes without grilling food (see "Operation").
To do this, turn the temperature control knob to the MAX
position.

Slight smoke development is normal. Make sure there
is sufficient ventilation.
4. Switch off the appliance and disconnect the mains plug
from the socket.
5. Let the appliance cool down completely.
6. Wipe the grill surfaces with a damp cloth.
Now your appliance is ready for operation.
