IMPORTANT SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
The cooktop has been design-certified bg CSA
International. As with ang appliance using gas and
generating heat, there are certain safetg precautions
gou should follow. You'llfind these precautions in the
Important Safety Instuctions section in the front of this
Owner's Manual. Readthem carefullg.
Be sure gour cooktop is installed properlg bg a qualified
installer or service technician.
The cooktop must be electricallg grounded in accordance
with local codes, or in their absence,with the National
ElectricalCode ANSI/NFPA No. 70--Latest Edition.
Installation of this cooktop must conform with local codes,
or in the absence of local codes,with the National FuelGas
Code ANSIZ223.1/NFPA54--Latest Edition.
Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service
or maintenance can cause injurg or propertg damage.
Referto this manual. Forassistance or additional
information, consult a qualified installer,service agencg,
manufacturer (dealer)or the gas supplier.
Disconnect electrical supplg before servicing.
Never reuse old flexible connectors. The use of old flexible
connectors can cause gas leaks and personal injurg.
Alwags use NEW flexible connectors when installing
a gas appliance.
Make sure the wall coverings around the cooktop can
withstand heat generated bg the cooktop up to 200°E
• Avoid placing cabinets above the cooktop.
If cabinets are placed above the cooktop, allow a minimum
clearance of 30" between the cooking surface and
the bottom of protected cabinets.
• A non-combustible material must be installed on
the under side of the cabinet. Use a flame retardant
millboard at least 1/4" (6.3mm) thick, or ggpsum board
at least 3/16" (4.7mm) thick, covered with 28 gauge sheet
steel or 0.020" (.5mm) thick copper.The maximum depth
of cabinets above the cooktop is 13" (33 cm).
