CHARGING
NOTES
1. After n ormal usage, your b attery p ack should b efully charged in
6to9 hours. I fthebattery p ack isrun-down completely,
itmay
take upto9hourstobecome fullycharged. Your b attery p ack
was sent f rom thefactory i nanuncharged condition. Before
attempting touseit,itmust b echarged foratleast 9 hours.
2. DONOT charge t hebattery p ack inanairtemperature
below
+40°F(+4.5°C),
orabove + 105°F ( +40.5°C). This isimportant and
wilt p revent serious d amage tothebattery p ack. Longest lifeand
best p erformance
canbeobtained ifbattery p ack ischarged
when airtemperature
isabout 75°F (24°C).
3. While charging, thecharger may hum and become w arm to
touch. This isa normal condition and does notindicate a
problem.
4. Ifthebattery p ack does notcharge p roperly--(1) Check c urrent
atreceptacle byplugging ina lamp orother a ppliance. (2)Check
toseeifreceptacle isconnected toa light s witch which t urns
power offwhen youturn outthelights. ( 3)Move charger and
battery p ack toa surrounding
airtemperature
of40°F (+4.5°C) to
105°F (+40.5°C). (4)Ifthereceptacle and temperature
areOK,
and youdonotgetproper charging, take orsend thebattery
pack and charger toyour l ocal B lack &Decker service c enter.

Transporting
the Pole Trimmer
Always remove the battery from the
handle (figure 2) and cover the blade with
the blade sheath when transporting the
Pole Trimmer. See page 4 for additional
information on transporting the battery.
