Installing the Power Unit
Follow the steps described below to install the power unit (PS-180) in the
PS-Cover. If the power unit is pre-installed, these steps are not necessary.
1.
Remove the two pieces of adhesive tape from the bottom of the PS-Cover.
The removed tapes will be used when attaching the printer to the
PS-Cover.
2.
Place the power unit in the PS-Cover with the label side of the power unit
down. (See illustration B.)
3.
Push the power unit downward until it is held in place by the hook (2 in
illustration C).
4.
Place the core (4 in illustration C) and the surplus DC cable in the
positions shown in illustration C.
5.
Wrap the DC cable around the two projections (5 in illustration D) in a
figure-eight arrangement, as shown in illustration D.
6.
Leave about 5~10 cm {2~4 in} of the end of the DC cable out of the case as
shown in illustration E.
CAUTION:
If the DC cable is not arranged in a figure 8, it may cause electronic
interference.
Installing the Printer
Follow the steps described below to install the printer on the PS-Cover.
1.
Turn off the printer and all the devices connected to the printer, and then
disconnect all the cables connected to the printer. If the connector cover is
attached, remove it from the printer.
2.
If the power unit is pre-installed, the DC cable is held in place by 2 pieces
of adhesive tape. Remove the tapes and then put the end of the DC cable
out of the case as shown in illustration E. The removed tapes will be used
in step 4.
3.
Set the printer on the PS-Cover as shown in illustration F.
CAUTION:
If the printer is lifted from the PS-Cover, the DC cable may be caught
between the printer and the PS-Cover. Make sure that this does not
happen.
4.
Put the fixing tapes (6 in illustration F) on the left side (illustration F-a)
and the right side (illustration F-b) of the printer to attach the PS-Cover to
the printer.
5.
Turn the printer over holding both the printer and the PS-Cover.
CAUTION:
When the printer is turned over, the PS-Cover may come off and the
printer may fall. Be sure to use the fixing tapes in step 4 for the sake of
safety.
