HELPFUL HINTS AND TIPS
To help you make the most out of your refrigerator, follow these useful food and
energy saving tips.
Hints for Fresh Food Refrigeration
■ Do not store warm food or evaporating liquids in the refrigerator.
■ Cover and wrap food ensuring it is airtight. Be particularly careful with strong
flavoured foods.
■ Food wrapped in polythene bags should be placed on the glass shelf above the
crisper bin. Food stored this way can safely be stored for only one or two days.
■ Cooked food and cold dishes should be covered and can be placed on any shelf.
■ Fruit and vegetables should be thoroughly cleaned and placed in the crisper bin.
■ Butter and cheese should be placed in special airtight containers, wrapped in
aluminium foil, or plastic to exclude as much air as possible.
■ Milk should be stored in a capped container on a balcony on the refrigerator door.
■ Bananas, potatoes, onions, and garlic, unless packed, must not be kept in the
refrigerator.
