INTRODUCTION
This Hifi record player features electronic speed control
employing a tacho generator, photo-electronic.off-switch,
floating suspension of turnable and pick-up arm. electronic
touch controls for start, speed selection and stop and a head-
shell with the unique « shde-in'» system for SUPER Mcor-
tridges.
'The important advantages which result from the electronic speed
control are, high stability of tumable speed, negligible wow
'and flutter and accurate individual speed adjustment
The slow running high-torque motor. the high quality turntable
bearing and the precision drive belt ensure exceptionally low
tumble transmission,
The photo electronic off-switch works without any forces ac-
ting upon the virtually frictionless and fully resonance damped
pick-up arm. By means of the electronic touch controls operation
|g possible without exerting any mechanical force on the
'mechanism, thus avoiding unwanted vibration during operation
19 absolutely silent
With a new damping mechanism is a valuable
Ips to prevent records being damaged: it permits
ruption of the music and accurate cueing,
pension of the tone arm and the turntable
against mechanical shocks and vibration,
The stylus force is very low, the
t r a c k i n g error neglible over the
antire recorded area,
and the side thrust compensation equally
effective for all positions of the pick-up arm,
The head shell is of the universal type and is designed to carry
all types of cartridges with standard 1/2 inch (12.7 mm)
'mounting centres. SUPER M cartridges can be simply installed
'ands by means of the convenient « slide-in » system

thrust compensation (F) in position O. Place the slide weight
(E) in position O against the pick-up arm bearing. Turn
Gounterweight (C) until the pick-up arm remains in balance
'when lifted free from its support and the pick-up arm lift. This
'means that the pick-up arm floats freely and does not move
upwards. or downwards.
Now push the slide weight (E) forwards until its chamfered
side is against the first, second, third or fourth ring on the
-up arm, for one, two, three or four grammes respectively,
(Fig. 2A shows an example of a stylus force of 1 gram.) The
'optimum stylus force for GP_400 and GP 401 SUPER M
'carindges is 2 grammes and for GP 412 SUPER M 1.2 grammes.
For the required stylus force of other cartridges consult their
technical data,

slide weight (E). For example when the chamfered side is
halfway between the 2nd and 3rd ting (2.9 grammes) set

MAINTENANCE
The diamond stylus is subject to. very sit
recommended to have i checked regularly (e.
by your dealer.
Stylus cleaning i best acheived with a small soft haired brush
The life of records is prolonged if they are kept clean e . g , by
means of a Discleaner and are handled without touching the
recorded area,
Putting on, taking off or cleaning a record should only be done
while the turntable is at rest
'The mechanism of this record player does not requite any
maintenance since its bearings are self-lubricating,
INTERCHANGING THE PICK-UP CARTRIDGE
