This manual has been prepared to help
you maximize your enjoyment of the outstand-
ing performance and features of your new Al-
pine 3681 Digital Time/Frequency Processor.
This fully configurable, 4 input, 12 output, Digi-
tal dividing network incorporates many adv-
anced technical and performance features. To
realize the exceptional performance for which
this product is capable, it is necessary that all
signal sources, speakers and interconnection
devices are of the highest sonic quality.
We recommend
Alpine Head-Units, Equalizers,
Power
Amplifiers,
Speaker
Systems,- High
Quality Interconnection Cables and PACEESSO-
ries wherever possible.
Due to the complexity of this product, we
strongly recommend that the 3681 be in-
stalled and accurately adjusted by your Al-
pine dealer.
The controls on this product are designed to be
adjusted by trained professionals using spe-
cialized equipment.
However, should you de-
cide to perform the installation on your own,
please study all sections of this manual care-
fully and become acquainted with all the spe-
cial features and capabilities of your new Al- —
pine 3681. Should you have any questions,
please contact your Alpine dealer.

A very flexible and precise DSP CHIP creates a
digitally adjustable DIVIDING NETWORK (cross-
over/output level/time correction).
@ DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSOR
By using a DSP CHIP with the industry's highest
processing speed (34 million instructions per
second), precisely detailed high-quality sound is
obtained.
@ 8fs 18-bit HYBRID I-DAC
Each band is provided with 8 times oversampl-
ing 18-bit HYBRID | DACs, which combine 1-bit
and multi-bit technology for high quality analog
conversion.
