VIBRATIONS
A high level of vibrations and long periods of exposure are factors that contribute to the medical condition known
as "white finger" (Raynaud's phenomenon). In order to reduce the risk of white finger/toe disease, it is necessary
to take these recommendations into account:
-
Always wear gloves.
-
Always be sure your hands stay warm.
-
Take frequent breaks.
-
Always hold the machine firmly by the handles.
If you detect some of the symptoms of white finger/toe disease, consult your doctor immediately.
SEGURIDAD DEL ÁREA DE TRABAJO
Do not operate this machine in explosive atmospheres, or in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
Do not start the machine in a room or indoor area. Exhaust gases and fuel fumes contain carbon monoxide and
dangerous chemicals.
The area within a 15 meters radius around the machine must be considered a risk zone where nobody should
enter while the machine is in operation (safety zone). When necessary, use tapes and warning signs to mark the
safety zone.
When the work must be carried out simultaneously by two or more people, always check the presence and
location of others in order to keep sufficient distance to ensure safety.
Keep the work area clean and work only in a well-lit area. Only use this machine in daylight or in good artificial
light. Do not use this machine at night, with fog or with reduced visibility that does not allow you to see the work
area clearly.
Check the work area before mowing the lawn and remove any objects such as stones, wood, etc. that may be
projected by the lawn mower or it may otherwise cause injuries.
SAFE USE OF COMBUSTIBLES
Fuel and oil are dangerous. Do not inhale or swallow them. If you ingest fuel and/or oil, go to your doctor quickly.
If you accidentally come into contact with fuel or oil, clean it with plenty of soap and water as soon as possible.
If you then feel your eyes or skin irritated, consult a doctor immediately.
Fuel and oil are dangerous and highly flammable chemicals. If they ignite, extinguish the fire with a dry powder
extinguisher.
Do not spill fuel or smoke near the machine.
Always turn off the engine before refuelling.
Always refuel in well-ventilated areas, and never with the engine hot or running.
If you find a fuel leak, do not start or run the engine until the leak has been repaired.
Make sure that the fuel cap is properly closed.
Fuel stored in the carburettor for long periods of time can cause a hard start and could also lead to further repairs
and maintenance.
Always store fuel in approved containers.
