Setting the security code
If you want to operate the
answering machine from a
remote phone away from
home, you must first set the
security code.
See "Calling from a remote
phone" section on page 27 for
details on remote operations.

Set a one-digit number between 0 and 9 by
pressing SKIP or REPEAT.
Press SKIP to increase a number, or REPEAT to decrease.
A number is displayed on the message counter.

Try not to forget the security
code as It cannot be checked.

Press SET/REC
The security code is set, and you hear a long confirmation
beep.
To keep your security code confidential, the answering
machine does not announce it for your confirmation.
■ Changing the security code-
Set any other one-digit security code by following the steps
above, and the old security code will be cleared automatically.
■ Erasing the security code-
You can erase the security code so that the answering machine
cannot be operated from a remote phone.
1 Press SET/REC
2 Press ANSWER ON/OFF.
appears in the message counter.
3 Press SET/REC again.
You hear a long confirmation beep, and the security code
alreadv set is erased.
