Important warnings
Do not allow the power cord or the steam hose
to come into contact with the soleplate when it
is hot.
Do not use descaling agents (unless they have
been advised by Siemens), they can damage
the appliance.
Never use abrasive products to clean the
soleplate or any other part of the appliance.
To keep the soleplate smooth, you should avoid
hard contact with metal objects. Never use a
scouring pad, or chemicals to clean the soleplate.
Your new appliance may smell and give off some
smoke when you use it for the first time. This is
normal and will cease after a short while.
The iron may also emit some small particles from
the steam holes. This will cease after using the
steam function several times.
How to use the appliance
Remove any label or protective cover from the
iron soleplate.
Check the laundry care label for the required
ironing temperature. If you do not know what
kind or kinds of fabric an article is made of,
determine the right ironing temperature by ironing
a part that will not be visible when you wear or
use the article.
Start ironing the articles that require the lowest
ironing temperature, such as those made of
synthetic fibres.
Silk, woollen or synthetic materials: iron the
reverse side of the fabric to prevent shiny patches.
Avoid using the spray function to prevent stains.
Filling the water tank

Unplug the steam station from the mains!
Open the screw plug.
Fill the boiler carefully.
For easy filling of the water tank, this iron is
supplied with a filling vessel and a funnel.
Use only clean water from the tap without mixing
anything with it. The addition of other liquids,
such as perfume, will damage the appliance.
Do not use condensation water from tumble
dryers, air conditionings or similar. This appliance
has been designed to use normal tap water.
To prolong the optimum steam function, mix tap
water with distilled water 1:1. If the tap water in
your district is very hard, mix tap water with
distilled water 1:2. Never use distilled water
exclusively.
Filling with warm water reduces the waiting time
for generation of steam. Do not use more than
1L. Close the screw plug tightly.
Refilling the water tank

Be careful when opening the screw plug, steam
may escape.
The pilot lamp
Press the steam button to check that no more
steam is generated. Only then l the boiler should
be refilled.
Set the appliance switch to position O and unplug
the steam station from the mains.
Open the screw plug carefully and slowly.
Allow remaining steam to escape.
Refill the boiler carefully.
Close the screw-cap of the tank firmly.
Practical use
Plug the steam station into the mains.
Set the appliance switch to position I.
The appliance begins to generate steam and
after 6 to 7 minutes, when the pilot lamp is on,
it will be ready for ironing.

Select the steam setting using the steam regulator

To iron without steam do not use the steam
release button.

Ironing with steam
The steam function is available only when the
temperature dial is set to the areas with the
steam symbol
If a too low temperature has been selected and
the steam function is used water may leak from
the soleplate
Adjust the steam flow to your desired level with
the steam control wheel.
Press the steam release button as often as
needed.
For models with cork handle iron:
To get permanent steam press the lock button
and slide it backwards until it locks. To switch
off the permanent steam, slide the lock button
forward.
Vertical steam
Set the temperature dial in the max. position
Operate the iron vertically at a distance of 10 to
20cm
Do not iron clothing while it is being worn!
Never direct the steam towards persons or
animals!
