2.5. Teach procedure
2.5.1. External Teach (Teach-by-wire and Teach-by-button)
NB! These functions works only in single point mode and only for SP1 in SSC1.
The Teach-by-wire must be set up first using an IO-link master:
a) Select: "2=Teach by wire" in the Selection of local/remote adjustment parameters 68 (0x44).
b) Select: "1=Single Point Mode", is already selected in "SSC1 Configuration" 61(0x3D),
"Mode 1" 2(0x02), (this value should already be set as default).
c) Select: 6=Teach-In (Active High) in Channel 2 (SO2) 65 (0x41) sub index 1 (0x01).
Teach-by-wire procedure (only background or target can be saved)
A) Adjustment - Background, No target present
Connect the teach-by-wire input (pin 2 white wire) to V+ (pin 1 brown wire). >3 seconds until the
LED's are flashing simultaneously one time per second. The surroundings will then be teached when
the wire is disconnected. The sensitivity will be adjusted such that the background will make the
detection safe OFF.
B) Adjustment - Target, Target present
Connect the teach-by-wire input (pin 2 white wire) to V+ (pin 1 brown wire) >6 seconds until the
LED's are flashing simultaneously two times per second. The object will then be teached when the
wire is disconnected. The sensitivity will be adjusted such that the object will make the detection safe
ON.
C) Cancel the teach-by-wire procedure
Connect the teach-by-wire input (pin 2 white wire) to V+ (pin 1 brown wire) >9 seconds until LED's
are flashing simultaneously x times will cancel the teach procedure A or B in progress.
Teach-by-button procedure (only background or target can be saved)
A) Adjustment - Background, No target present
Holding the Teach-button >3 seconds until the LED's are flashing simultaneously one time per second.
The surroundings will then be teached when the Teach-button is released. The sensitivity will be
adjusted such that the background will make the detection safe OFF.
B) Adjustment - Target, Target present
Holding the Teach-button >6 seconds until the LED's are flashing simultaneously two times per
second. The object will then be teached when the Teach-button is released. The sensitivity will be
adjusted such that the object will make the detection safe ON.
C) Cancel the teach-by-button procedure
Holding the Teach-button >9 seconds until LED's are flashing simultaneously x times will cancel the
teach procedure A or B in progress.
