4. Put the air filter cover back on and close.
7.3
Changing the oil (01, 06)
Check the oil level regularly. Check the oil level
every 5 operating hours or every day before start-
ing the engine.
WARNING!
Danger of explosion and fire
Escaping fuel creates an explosive pet-
rol/air mixture. Deflagration, explosion
and fire can lead to serious and even fa-
tal injuries if fuel is not handled properly.
■
Empty the fuel tank before draining
the oil.
NOTE
Contact our customer service if you can-
not carry out work yourself.
NOTE
The oil capacity for the engine is max.
0.5 l.
NOTE
■
Drain off the old oil when the engine
is warm. Warm oil runs out quickly
and fully.
■
Dispose of used oil in an eco-friend-
ly manner!
1. To empty the fuel tank: Allow the engine to
run until it stops itself.
Or drain the fuel.
2. Remove the spark plug connector (01/5).
3. Remove the oil dipstick (06/2).
4. Place a collecting container (06/3) for the old
oil beneath.
5. Tilt the engine over the collecting container
so that all of the oil can drain out of the oil fill-
er opening (06/4).
6. Allow the oil to run out completely into a con-
tainer.
7. Pour in new oil (SAE 10W-30, fill volume: 0.5
l) (see chapter 4.2.2 "Filling with engine oil
(04)", page 19).
8. Check that the level has reached the MAX
(03/4) mark.
9. Insert and lock the oil dipstick.
10. Remove any spilled oil.

Maintaining the spark plug (02)
Prescribed spark plug type: Bosch F7 RTC
WARNING!
Risk of injury from electric shock
Checking the ignition spark with the
spark plug removed may result in seri-
ous injury from electric shock and fire.
■
Never check the ignition spark func-
tion with the spark plug removed.
Use an ignition spark tester instead.
IMPORTANT!
Danger of engine damage
Operating the engine with the incorrect
spark plug or without a spark plug will
result in serious engine damage!
■
Always use the specified spark plug
type.
■
Never try to start the engine without
a spark plug.
1. Unscrew the spark plug (02/1) with a socket
wrench.
2. Clean the electrodes (02/2) with a metal
brush and remove any soot deposits.
3. Check the correct electrode gap with a feeler
gauge.
Note: The electrode clearance of the spark
plug should be 0.7 mm – 0.8 mm.
4. Reinsert the spark plug and tighten with a
socket wrench.
