INSTALLATION:
This ski rack is designed to be mounted on roof bars. It is advisable to look at the recommendations for the use of your
roof bars and the ski rack as well as the recommendations for use contained in your vehicle's technical manual.
Read the assembly instructions carefully and respect the order of the explanatory diagrams when installing the
product.
Check that all parts are present in the packaging (checklist with the assembly instructions).
If there is no indication specified about the positioning of the roof bars, try to maintain a minimum distance of 700mm
between the two bars. The distance must never be less than 600mm.
Before each use, check that the roof bars are securely attached to the roof (shake them hard to try and move them).
Check that the roof bars are in perfect working order and check the tightening torques before installing the ski rack.
Repeat these tests regularly.
Certain elements on the roof of the vehicle (sunroof, aerial or any other object) cannot be used when the roof bars are
attached to the car.
This product must not be modified in any way.
Whenever possible, the ski rack must always be locked at the second notch.
Note: If the load (skis/snowboard) is too deep and the rubber rails are already heavily compressed, it is possible to
lock at the first notch.
Keep these assembly instructions for future reference.
LOADING:
Do not exceed the maximum load indicated in the assembly instructions.
Nonetheless check that the car manufacturer does not specify a lower load, in which case the latter prevails.
Maximum load on the roof = Weight of the roof bars + Weight of the ski rack + Load (skis and/or snowboard).
Bear in mind that the load must not stick out laterally in relation to the roof bars.
The load must be distributed evenly over the bars by always seeking the lowest possible centre of gravity.
Check that the ski rack is firmly attached to the roof bars. Shake them to try and move them.
If they move, tighten the screws and nuts and check that the assembly is correct.
Skis must always be transported with the tips towards the rear of the car.
Warning. Check that the tips aren't too far back and that they don't hamper the opening of the boot.
A pair of skis must be installed on the ski rack base to base.
Two snowboards must be installed on the ski rack base to base.
Do not forget to remove accessories that may become detached from the material being transported.
When loading skis onto the ski rack, always check that they do not come into contact with the roof of the car. It could
cause damage to the roof of the vehicle.
Place the ski poles in the boot of the car.
After loading skis, always check that the ski rack is correctly closed and locked with the key locks provided. Do not use
fasteners and locks other than those provided with this product.
Check the load's attachment after several kilometres, then at regular intervals, tightening if necessary.
The ski rack is compatible with all types of skis and snowboards.
If the skis and/or snowboards are very wide (non-standard profile), it is possible that the maximum capacity
recommended in this notice is not attainable.
If the length of the skis or snowboard is less than 800mm, they are not to be put on the ski rack.
DRIVING AND REGULATIONS:
• Adjust and adapt your driving to the nature of the load transported, but also according to the road, wind, traffic and
speed limits.
• Be aware of the height of the vehicle particularly when transporting accessories on the roof of your vehicle.
• Loading on the roof affects the vehicle's handling and braking, as well as sensitivity to side wind.
• Products delivered with locks must be systematically locked during transport.
MAINTENANCE:
• Check and replace defective parts if the need arises.
• Clean and maintain the ski rack carefully especially in winter. Lubricate screws, nuts and locks regularly.
• Dismantle the ski rack when not in use.
• Dismantle and keep all parts of the ski rack carefully when dismantled.
• Remove the ski rack from the vehicle before placing it in a car wash.
• To reduce petrol consumption, roof bars and ski racks should be taken off the vehicle after use.
