DESCRIPTION
EK mobile electrical space heaters have been designed to heat dif-
ferent kinds of locations: industrial, civil, warehouses, building yards,
public places. Air is taken from the environment through a fan and hea-
ted by armour-plated resistances.
The fan and resistances are inside the machine and the air comes
in and out through appropriate grids. Space heaters are made of steel
sheets and provided with a double wall to enhance machine efficiency
and limit external walls temperatures. They are provided with feet as
well, to be mounted before use. These offer optimum stability to the
machine provided it is placed on an horizontal solid surface.
GENERAL ADVICE
Space heaters must be installed, set up and used in accordance
with current laws.
A few general guidelines should be observed:
• follow the instructions in this booklet very carefully;
• do not install the heater near showers, bathtubs or swimming
pools;
• do not place the heater immediately beneath a fixed wall socket;
• the heater must be placed on a firm surface to avoid overturning;
• inflammable materials must be kept at a safe distance from the
heater;
• the heater must not be covered;
• make sure the heater is always under surveillance and keep chil-
dren and animals away from it;
• after use make sure the disconnecting switch is off.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Warning
Use the four screws provided to fix the feet as shown in
the picture before using the heater.
Models EK 3 A must be connected to a 230V ~ grounded wall
socket, while models EK 9 A and EK 15 A are equipped with a CEE
plug to be connected to a 400V 3 ~ grounded electric mains.
Before any attempt to start the heater is made, check that your
electrical supply conforms to the data on the model plate.
Warning
Mains must be fitted with a thermo-magnetic differential
switch.
The unit plug must be linked to a socket with a mains
switch.
INSTRUCTIONS
THERMOSTAT 0-40 C°
Turn on the ON-OFF switch (a).
By setting the room thermostat to the desired temperature level, the
heater will start and stop automatically. When the selected temperature
level is reached, the fan only goes on for the time required ("POSTVEN-
TILATION").
POWER SELECTOR
You can choose power delivery using the selector (b) as follows:
Mod
EK 3 A [kW]
EK 9 A [kW]
EK 15 A [kW]
TEMPERATURE-LIMIT THERMOSTAT
A temperature-limit thermostat will stop the power supply in case
of overheating. If the thermostat releases, disconnect fan's electricity
supply, wait until the fan has cooled down and fix the problem causing
the overheating. In models EK3 A and EK9 A press the RESET button
on the heater cover to reset the temperature-limit thermostat. In mo-
dels EK15 A reset is carried out at the back of the machine, next to the
RESET label: unscrew the protective hood and press the red button, re-
place the hood to avoid compromising the heater insulation protection
level.
POSTVENTILATION
When the room temperature reaches the value of the valve on the
thermostat, the heating stops and the fan goes on until the resistances
have cooled down.
TURNING OFF
To stop the appliance, turn the ON-OFF switch (a) to the "0" posi-
tion, the heating stops and the fan goes on until the resistances have
cooled down.
MAINTENANCE
Warning
Before carrying out any maintenance operation you must:
• Stop the heater;
• Turn off the disconnection switch on the electric swit-
chboard;
• Wait until the heater has cooled down.
CLEANING
If the heater is to operate efficiently, cleaning operations must be
carried out regularly. Dust and dirt may cause overheating and fires.
