1, 1, 1-trichloroethane in this pump.
An explosion can result with aluminium
and/or zinc-plated parts in pump come
in contact with halogenated
hydrocarbon solvents.

WARNING
Release all pressure within system prior
to performing any overhaul procedure.
• Disconnect air supply line from
pump motor.
• Into an appropriate container, operate
control valve to discharge remaining
pressure within system.
Failure to comply may lead to personal
injury.
WARNING
Do not point a control valve at any
portion of body or another person.
Accidental discharge of pressure and/or
material can occur.
Failure to comply may lead to death or
serious personal injury.
Overhaul
NOTE
Refer to Fig. IPB 1, page 15 for compo-
nent identification for all overhaul
procedures.
Disassembly
Separate pump tube
from air motor
1 Clamp body (15) horizontally in a soft-
jaw vise.
2 Unscrew cylinder (17) from body.
3 Remove cylinder and attached components.
NOTE
Support pump tube during removal.
Damage to components can occur.
4 Pull on rod and stop (7) to expose end of
air motor piston rod as required.
5 Remove cotter pin (6) that secures air
motor's piston rod to rod and stop.
6 Unscrew rod and stop from air motor's
piston rod.
7 Loosen jam nut (8) that secures air
motor (1) to body.
8 Unscrew and remove air motor from
body.
9 Remove jam nut from air motor as
required.

Pump tube
Body
10 Remove gasket (16) from bottom of
body.
11 Remove packing screw (9) from body.
12 From top of body remove:
– Washer (10) : Quantity 1
– Internal adapter ring (11) : Quantity 1
– Packings (12): Quantity 2
– External adapter ring (13): Quantity 1
– Additional washer (10): Quantity 1
– Spring (14): Quantity 1
Cylinder
13 Unscrew nut (22) that secures
plunger (21) to rod and stop.
14 Remove plunger and valve (19) from rod
and stop.
15 Remove both packing rings (20) from
plunger.
16 Remove bung adapter (18) from cylinder
as required.
Valve body
17 Unscrew valve body (25) from cylinder.
18 Remove gasket (16), stop washer (23),
additional gasket (16), and ball (24) from
valve body.
19 Remove extension (26) from valve body
as required.
